The Association for Home & Hospice Care of North Carolina (AHHC of NC) is seeking an Events and Marketing Associate to add to its growing team! This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the premiere state home care & hospice associations in the country. AHHC is a non-profit trade association based in Raleigh, NC whose members are organizations that provide home care, home health, hospice & palliative care services. AHHC’s mission is to provide resources, education, advocacy, and leadership to those organizations, and to constantly evolve to meet the ever-changing needs of the healthcare at home industry in our state. AHHC manages the South Carolina Home Care & Hospice Association, and this individual will be applying all job functions and roles to both associations.
AHHC is looking for an energetic, customer service-oriented, tech savvy associate to assist the association’s VP of Marketing, Communications & Events with several competing projects and priorities including but not limited to: the marketing and planning of AHHC’s statewide in-person/hybrid conferences, virtual conferences, webinars, and in-person workshops; the Association’s Affinity Programs; Membership Recruitment campaigns; and Advocacy alerts and communications. The ideal candidate will be familiar with event planning, Social Media, basic HTML and website editing, virtual conferencing platforms such as Zoom, design software such as Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop, as well as Microsoft 365. This person must be a fast learner with the ability to adapt to new technology and platforms. Must be able to demonstrate self-sufficiency with projects and remote work. Excellent time management, communication, organization, and coordination skills are a must.
Responsibilities
Report directly to VP of Marketing Communications & Events
Collaborate cross functionally with AHHC team members who specialize in various aspects of AHHC’s membership
Assist with all virtual and in-person events including but not limited to communications to speakers/panelists, attendees, hotel staff, and outside contractors
Assist primary nurse planner with continuing education documentation and processes
Assist with fundraisers such as the AHHC Advocacy Cornhole Tournament
Perform periodic process improvement and report to VP of Marketing, Communications & Events
Actively contribute as a key player in AHHC’s PR initiatives, video marketing and public awareness campaigns
Assist in coordinating advertising for AHHC’s Business Partners and Sponsors
Manage daily updates across social media channels and reporting
Apply the latest thinking and best practices from social, digital media, and marketing communications to create highly engaging and impactful communication campaigns
Build and manage relationships with industry associations/ business partners
Build relationships and establish rapport with AHHC members
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications, business administration or related field of study
2-4+ years of marketing, communications, or professional event planning experience, preferably in health care or for an association
Demonstrate attention to detail and aptitude for quickly grasping technical concepts
Project management experience a plus
Proficient in English with excellent writing skills
Positive attitude and a good work ethic with a strong orientation toward customer service and follow-through
Ability to multi-task and prioritize among competing projects and priorities
Some regional travel required
Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs
Must be prepared to submit 3 samples of writing, such as a marketing campaign, press release, or newsletter
Preference given to those with:
Experience creating and managing multiple facets of marketing/communication campaigns
Experience using social media platforms for business, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn
Experience using video editing software such as Adobe Premiere
Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud programs such as InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
