The visionary Head of School, Claudia Koochek is an accomplished leader in LD education nationwide.
The Opportunity The Director of Strategic Marketing and Communications serves as a member of the School’s leadership team and is responsible for advancing Westmark’s regional, state and national visibility and reputation, growing brand awareness, and promoting the School’s unique position in the marketplace as a leader in learning differences education. The Director reports to the Director of Advancement and together with the Head of School works to further identify and build partnerships with colleges, universities and other organizations and in planning symposia, conferences and ground-breaking summits to bring together thought leaders in educating students with learning differences.
The Director of Strategic Marketing and Communications oversees all internal and external marketing communications activities including messaging and branding, publications, social media, digital communications, web presence, advertising, media relations, crisis communications, and Advancement communications. The incumbent also works closely with the Director of Admissions to widely market the school to potential applicants.

The incumbent has an outstanding opportunity to collaborate with the Head of School, Advancement Director and other influencers to make her vision for the school, including building a new state-of-the-art lower school and ultimately an institute for educating children with learning differences become reality.

Qualifications The successful candidate has 7+ years of experience in marketing and communications and has realized significant results in building an organization’s reputation, identity and brand. They will be an authentic, strategic thinker and innovator and have the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of individuals. They will have boundless enthusiasm for the mission of the school and be a gifted storyteller, resourceful, and tech savvy. Strong oral, written and presentation communication skills required.
