The Marketing Manager is an experienced consumer marketing professional that has demonstrated the ability to meet or exceed strategic growth goals.  As Marketing Manager, you will lead a small-but-mighty team along with outside agency relationships. You are responsible for the management, implementation and execution of multi-channel campaigns that increase the credit union’s market share, share of wallet, brand awareness, member engagement, and revenue. You strategic, organized, analytical and creative but also agile, technically oriented and agile. It’s important that you can think on your feet, out of the box, and be able to transition between the big picture to hands on execution. This position includes oversight for all marketing channels, credit union products, member segments, projects and will be expected to help develop and grow the members of the team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Work closely with the Chief Marketing Officer, to develop the credit union’s marketing strategy.
  • Drive branding through brand awareness, content creation, event planning, advertising, social media, PR, and digital marketing.
  • Work with the Marketing team, third parties, and internal teams to drive tactical execution on the strategies and, more often than not, execute them yourself. 
  • Manage the timing and content of all outbound communications and promotional initiatives including the website, blogs, search, online advertising, print advertising, and community events.
  • Manage internal and third-party resources efficiently and effectively to deliver the best ROMI possible.  Direct the overall marketing and promotions calendar including external/internal promotions, social media efforts, collateral materials, member educational programming, vendor/outsourcing, management, and website content.
  • Use consumer insights and data to evaluate ingoing marketing efforts, and leverage to inform future improvements, optimizations and potential opportunities for growth.
  • Collaborate and work closely with cross-departmental partners such as branches, lending, compliance, digital experience, IT, etc. to implement and execute marketing programs and campaigns.
  • Stay informed of developments and trends within the credit union industry. Maintain working knowledge of regulatory compliance related to member experience and financial services areas.
  • Review and copy-edit materials for typographical and graphic consistency – creatives, social posts, PR releases, etc.
  • Work with the Community and Business Development team to drive new member acquisition, community involvement (volunteer and educational programs) to meet yearly goals.
  • Represent the credit union at volunteer and business development events, during and outside of normal business hours.
  • Establish and maintain sound working relationships with key vendors, outside services, professional organizations, and trade organizations.
  • Assist with special projects as needed and performs other related duties as requested or assigned.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree, minimum of 5+ years’ experience in marketing or equivalent working experience.
  • Previous success in a marketing leadership position leading customer/member acquisition, brand marketing, demand generation, product marketing, and digital/social marketing.
  • 6+ years in progressive marketing roles, including experience leading and mentoring high-performing teams. Agency management experience.
  • Multicultural Marketing experience preferred 
  • Must be willing to work occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Fluency with digital tools, including but not limited to: Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, Tableau, Facebook Ads, Google Ads, etc.
  • Analytical and creative; ability to see patterns in data, put qualitative and quantitative insights together.
  • Experience across the spectrum of brand marketing: PR, social media, content development, community building, etc.
  • Experience in digital marketing: web, email marketing, YouTube, affiliates
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Office Tools – PowerPoint, Excel, Word. Experience using Canva / Creative Cloud / creative development tools a plus.
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to provide high level copywriting, when needed.
  • Superior communication, problem solving skills and ability to learn and adapt quickly.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships across all levels of the organization and with people from all walks of life.

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree, Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum educationMinimum Experience: 3 years, Combined education/experience as substitute for minimum experienceMinimum Field of Expertise: Thorough knowledge of marketing and business management. Knowledge of the principles, practices, concepts and methodology of marketing. Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
