Department Description
The College of Letters and Science is the largest school or college within UC Davis, with 16,000 students, 900+ faculty members and more than 85,000 alumni. The Office of Marketing and Communications works with the many departments and centers in the college and primarily supports the College's Dean's Office.
Job Summary
Under general supervision of the Director of Marketing and Communications, serve as liaison between LS Marketing Communications and LS and UC Davis Central Development and Alumni Relations teams; develop and oversee creation of all development- and alumni-related content; update department websites; oversee building and sending of all LS MarComm emails; provide QA/proofreading as needed; perform miscellaneous administrative functions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications or related field.
Three - five years of experience working in marketing and/or communications.
Strong editing and writing experience including AP Style, campus editorial style, and grammar, and using calendaring and other project management tools to meet editing deadlines.
Experience using Microsoft Office software, including development of spreadsheets and multi-media presentations.
Experience using organizational, analytical, planning and problem-solving skills to take initiative and prioritize working under multiple deadlines, heavy workload and overlapping activities.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA):
Working knowledge of current marketing and communications best practices. Working knowledge Adobe Creative Suite, web content management systems (Drupal), project management software, such as SmartSheet, and analytics tools like Google Analytics.
Interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively and positively with colleagues, students, faculty, the public and outside agencies/vendors.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred Education/Experience:
Experience in higher education-related communications.
Experience using marketing metrics and analytics.
Experience working with a content management system.
Experience with proofreading and editing print and online content with knowledge of AP style.
