Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing, Graphic Design, Computer Science, Education or related field. Two years of experience in web design, graphic design, website development, communications, or a related field. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.
Nature & Purpose of Position/Usual Duties:
Develops marketing strategies, implements marketing tools, and promotes activities and programs for the Campus Recreation Department.
Primary Responsibilities (Staff Positions Only):
Collaborates across various communication and engagement domains, spanning graphic design, branding, creative outreach, and event coordination. Supervises, mentors, trains, evaluates, and schedules the work of a team of ten student employees, comprising graphic designers, photographers, social media managers, and departmental ambassadors, ensuring effective leadership and productivity. Creates visual designs and graphics utilizing InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Develops production-ready assets, including logos, icons, and graphics. Management of day-to-day internal account operations and brand integrity across various pertinent social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Partners with program stakeholders to create and execute innovative strategies and marketing plans that drive awareness, engagement, and program/service adoption. Identifies marketing equipment needs, as well as strategic promotional items to support department goals. Monitors the design and maintenance of Campus Recreation and related websites, ensuring compliance with SHSU design standards. Generates new applications, web content, and images as required for Campus Recreation. Develops online surveys, job applications, and registration forms and collaborates with SHSU IT to implement web templates and coordinate web page activities. Creates interactive content for social media and digital signage formats while also coordinating the posting schedule for content across social media and print publications. Assists with budget development for advertising and staff budgets. Serves on Department and University committees as assigned. Performs other related duties as assigned.
