The College Outreach, Marketing & Events Coordinator will coordinate and implement comprehensive communications, marketing, and outreach initiatives to include alumni relations; prospective and new donor, friend and student recruitment; and connections with clinical agencies, external stakeholders and community groups. This role will assume primary responsibility for, and support, on- and off-campus events and meeting management for the College of Health Professions, CHP departments and the Institute for Well-Being; recruitment budget; and website development. The selected candidate will participate in marketing, communication efforts and special events that support college outreach and development, while serving as TU brand expert in the College supporting daily operations of the CHP Dean’s Office.
Responsibilities and Duties
Initiate, develop, and contribute to college publications, announcements and outreach efforts with alumni updates and news items. Support college, departmental and IWB communications in website development and outreach needs. Provide appropriate resources and information to publicize assigned departmental and college programs. Compile statistics for newsletter and other outlets, including applicant numbers, enrollment data, numbers and types of fieldwork placements and locations, awards, etc. to be used for marketing and outreach. Develop announcements of events, awards, accomplishments, etc. to highlight college and departmental activities as assigned. Recommend, write and revise CHP promotional materials and maintain inventory of these items. Provide resource assistance to departments and programs in development of discipline-specific promotional and informational materials. Coordinate promotional materials across departments for consistency with college materials and marketing guidelines.
Plan, manage, and implement overall alumni development strategies, priorities, and goals that include alumni leadership, student involvement, programs, services, meetings, and communications. Manage and coordinate activities of CHP alumni outreach including board meetings, recruitment of new members, and alumni events. Assume responsibility for the development of alumni relations materials including brochures, letters, etc. Coordinate CHP alumni efforts with TU Alumni Association. Plan and attend events and be a visible advocate and representative of the college and its programs. Travel to meet with alumni and other constituencies. Serve on committees and team projects as assigned.
Manage stewardship program for the College, to include correspondence, recognition, and event coordination. Facilitate donor development and outreach.
Facilitate and coordinate general College recruitment activities. Lead, organize and conduct meetings and events as needed and upon request.
Represent College at local, state, and regional recruitment events at area institutions and organizations as appropriate. Coordinate College communications and events with University Marketing and
Advancement divisions. Establish master events calendar for College, to include pre-event planning, executing high level, detailed events for alumni, CHP board, special events, including high end community, lobbying, and other outreach events. Manage recruitment budget and purchasing through invoices and use of a TU Procurement Card, including planning for and selection of giveaways and event budgeting.
Create, write/draft and edit all communications materials for CHP marketing needs, to include but not limited to CHP webpages, newsletter, brochures, flyers, etc. Serve as liaison to TU Marketing Division. Recommend and manage social media strategy for CHP. Manage and implement TU brand strategy across the College. Serve as TU brand expert for CHP.
Serve as a back up ProCard holder and Stratus approved to the Dean's Office. Assist in daily office operations as needed including, but not limited to, front office coverage, directing questions from faculty, staff, and students to the appropriate parties, and troubleshooting other needs that arise. Support the dean's office as back up for clinical affiliation agreement management.
Other duties as assigned that support the success of the college’s programs, faculty, staff, and students.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor's degree.
Three years' experience.
General knowledge of higher education or health professions.
Ability to communicate effectively with multiple internal and external constituencies.
Ability to initiate and draft formal communications.
Excellent writing and editing skills with attention to the audience.
Experience in organizing, coordinating and/or promoting events and activities.
Willingness and ability to travel and work evenings and weekends as needed.
Ability to deliver presentations to large audiences.
Knowledge of standard office equipment and proficiency in Microsoft Office, e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, and Publisher.
Experience with use of social media for effective communications.
Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and execute multiple and continuing assignments with general instructions.
Ability to conduct projects with limited supervision, be responsive to a team environment, and supervise student help when necessary.
Strong time management skills.
Preferred:
Previous alumni relations experience, event planning experience and website editing.
Starting salary is $60,000. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
