DIRECTOR OF MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS, MIT Office of Innovation, to be responsible for a full range of internal and external communications promoting the office's role as a connector across the MIT innovation and entrepreneurship landscape and for sharing MIT's mission and achievements in this domain on a global scale. Will direct the collection of data and delivery of annual reports; develop and oversee the execution of marketing and communications strategy and provide guidance/leadership on visual identity, branding, and editorial content; design, write, and produce communications and key messaging; lead the innovation.mit.edu overhaul/redesign; art direct photographers/videographers/graphic designers; liaise with other MIT offices/departments and the media; oversee editorial content on all web pages and develop new features; develop and extend the office's social media presence; manage vendor relationships; and perform a variety of other duties.
Job Requirements REQUIRED: bachelor's degree in related field; at least seven years' progressive marketing and communications experience; proficiency with a range of communications strategies and tools, including digital channels, new media, and social media; strategic approach to communications; excellent project management and oral and written communication skills; and interest in innovation and making an impact on MIT students, faculty, and staff. Must be able to design and implement innovative marketing and communications campaigns on-time and on-budget; move from vision and strategy to operations and detailed execution and operate effectively on all levels; collaborate and support the entire team with its programs/projects; work at the director level as a thought and peer leader; forge productive relationships and align strategies in a complex environment; and operate effecively in a dynamic, sometimes ambiguous environment.
