Position Overview
The Michigan Golf Course Association (MGCA) is seeking a detail-oriented Operations and Marketing Coordinator to support day-to-day administrative, operational, marketing, and event-related functions. In this role, the Operations and Marketing Coordinator will assist with implementing marketing and communications activities while helping ensure the association operates efficiently and delivers high-quality service to MGCA members.
This position is ideal for an organized, proactive professional who enjoys supporting a small team, managing multiple priorities, and contributing to a growing association environment.
Key Responsibilities
Support daily operations and administrative functions across the association
Maintain accurate member, event, and payment records using the Association Management System (AMS)
Serve as a professional point of contact for members via phone and email
Process checks and credit card payments; prepare bank deposits
Enter and reconcile transactions in QuickBooks Online
Assist with board and association meeting preparation; take meeting minutes as needed
Support planning and execution of MGCA events, including on-site event support
Perform general office duties including mailings, ordering supplies, filing, and light office organization
Assist with additional administrative and operational projects as assigned
Marketing & Communications Support
Assist in the development and execution of marketing campaigns across digital, print, and email channels
Coordinate content for websites, email newsletters, blogs, and social media platforms
Maintain marketing calendars and ensure deadlines are met
Support brand consistency across all communications and materials
Digital & Content Marketing
Draft, edit, and schedule content for email campaigns and social media
Update website content and assist with basic SEO best practices
Track and report on marketing performance metrics (email open rates, website traffic, engagement, etc.)
Event & Program Marketing
Support promotion of events, programs, and initiatives (conferences, webinars, campaigns, etc.)
Coordinate logistics related to marketing materials, signage, and digital assets
Assist with post-event communications and reporting
Design & Vendor Coordination
Work with internal teams and external vendors (designers, printers, agencies) to produce marketing materials
Manage updates to templates, flyers, presentations, and collateral
Maintain digital asset libraries and brand resources
Administrative & Project Support
Assist with budget tracking, invoices, and vendor coordination
Support data management within CRM or email marketing platforms
Perform other marketing and communications duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required:
High School Diploma
At least 2 years of administrative, operations, or office support experience
Experience working in an association, nonprofit, or membership-based organization
1–3 years of experience in a marketing, communications, or coordination role
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities independently
Preferred:
Experience with QuickBooks Online
Familiarity with association management systems (AMS)
Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Constant Contact)
Familiarity with social media management tools and analytics
Basic design experience using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools

Schedule & Work Environment
Working Hours: This is a full time position on site at the MGCA Office in East Lansing, MI. Working hours are typically 9-5pm. Association events and member events at certain times during the year will require evening hours.
Some travel within Michigan required for meetings and events; occasional overnight travel possible
Office-based role with occasional event support requiring standing and light lifting (up to 25 lbs.)
Compensation
$40,000-$45,000.
