About the Opportunity
The D'Amore-McKim School of Business (DMSB) and the College of Arts, Media and Design at Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts invite applications for a joint tenure-track or tenured appointment in any rank (Assistant/Associate/Full professor) starting in Fall 2025. We are seeking outstanding faculty with interdisciplinary interests in Marketing, Communications, and AI. This position is focused on how AI and machine learning are transforming marketing practices and shaping media landscapes.
We are particularly interested in applicants with research and teaching expertise focused on topics and methodologies including social media marketing, online platforms, marketing analytics, and machine learning/AI applications along with its intersection of marketing and communications. Candidates will be considered for a joint appointment between the D'Amore-McKim School of Business (primary appointment) and the College of Arts, Media and Design (secondary appointment). The position will primarily be on the Boston campus but there is also a possibility of affiliations at other campuses within the Northeastern University global network.
This interdisciplinary appointment brings an unparallel opportunity to join a dynamic research environment that values effective collaborations across disciplines. The hired candidate's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, conducting high-quality interdisciplinary research, teaching courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, supporting current and planned education and accredited professional programs, and participating in service to the University, its colleges and departments, and the candidate's professional discipline.

Summary of Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will develop and execute an independent research program; teach marketing and communications courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels; and participate in service to the group, D'Amore-McKim School of Business, College of Arts, Media and Design, Northeastern University, and the candidate's professional discipline.
Research 50%
Produce high quality scholarly research that leads to publications in top-tier journals.
Present research at well-respected marketing conferences.
Teaching 40%
Teach undergraduate and/or graduate marketing and communications courses.
Continuously update course materials and experiential activities.
Service 10%
Participate in internal and external service activities.
Qualifications:
Candidates are expected to hold an earned doctorate in Marketing or a closely related field by the employment start date. Academic rank at the Associate Professor and Full Professor levels will be commensurate with experience and qualifications reflecting a record of demonstrated teaching and scholarly excellence. For Associate Professor level appointments, 5 years of related experience is required by the employment start date. For Full Professor level appointments, 7 years of related experience is required by the employment start date. Candidates must have a commitment to working with diverse student populations and/or in culturally diverse work and educational environments, and to promoting experiential learning, which are central to a Northeastern University education.
