Randolph School seeks a dynamic and strategic Director of Marketing and Communications to lead the School’s award-winning brand marketing initiatives and communications strategies. Reporting directly to the Assistant Head for Advancement and Strategy, this individual bears overall responsibility for making visible the School’s mission, vision, and values to Randolph’s internal and external audiences through professional standards of public and media relations, marketing and communications. The successful candidate will be a creative and strategic thinker who will work closely with the School community to develop and implement an integrated marketing, communication, media, and public relations plan that promotes and enhances the School’s national reputation as an outstanding PK-12 college preparatory institution.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate for this position:
Has a bachelor’s degree in a related field, with a master’s degree preferred. Ideally, coursework and/or the degree program(s) will have emphasized marketing, communications, business, journalism, and writing or design.
Has five years of successful experience in managing a marketing program, preferably in an educational or non-profit setting, and those who have a successful history with social media and public relations will be preferred.
Has the ability to lead multiple projects under simultaneous deadlines, on time and within budget.
Provides a portfolio, which demonstrates an understanding of the principles and practices of marketing and public relations, along with strong writing/editing skills and expertise in publishing and/or design.
Has a high degree of proficiency with marketing platforms and publishing technologies.
References should address the candidate’s ability to meet deadlines, to be poised and articulate in a variety of settings, to possess a good sense of humor, and to work collaboratively, effectively, and harmoniously with others in an educational setting.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Director of Marketing and Communications:
Develops copy and related assets to project the Randolph mission, values, and story across all types of publications and media.
Collaborates with the Admission Office, Development Office, administration and program directors to develop the School’s marketing strategy and to outline brand policies and promotion campaigns.
Oversees and coordinates all school publications, brand placement, and information to ensure consistency of messaging and branding with respect to format, style, and logo presentation.
Authorizes and establishes effective working relationships with local print and broadcast media to ensure that the Randolph “story” is communicated accurately and effectively.
Manages the budget, negotiates advertising contracts, and reviews and approves all advertisements before release.
Manages School online presence across all official social media channels.
Manages in-bound marketing materials and tools, including the School’s blog, website, and dashboards.
Manages out-bound marketing materials for recruitment, fundraising, event promotion, and brand placement, in both print and digital formats.
Ensures photographic coverage of school events and maintains school archives.
Directs research activities concerned with gathering information or with compilation of statistics pertinent to planning and execution of advertising sales promotion campaigns.
Directs preparation of special promotional features including viewbooks, program guides, campaign materials, the Report on Philanthropy, the Randolph magazine, and all admission materials.
