The Well School (www.wellschool.org) has been an innovative leader among elementary schools in the Monadnock Region of New Hampshire for over 50 years. Since its inception, the school has offered an education focused on the whole child using a curriculum that embraces outdoor experiences and emphasizes community participation. The Admissions and Marketing Director manages student selection and enrollment, and also represents the school to current and prospective students, parents, and the community. Markets the school to prospective students and parents, studies enrollment trends, responds to inquiries, interviews, and screens candidates. Collaborates with the business office to assist students and their families with financial planning. Oversees retention of current students.
The Admissions and Marketing Director is a team player who has a warm collaborative nature, positive energy, sense of humor, possesses superior organization and prioritization skills, and is self-motivated in the completion of his/her work. She/he will have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills including outstanding writing and public speaking skills and the ability to interact comfortably with a variety of people. This person will have genuine empathy for prospective families and an awareness of the needs and sensitivities of parents, students, faculty, staff, and administrators and ultimately be able to manage expectations and deliver admissions decisions in a manner that is honest, caring, and diplomatic.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Admissions and Marketing Director will:
Represent The Well School and serve as the face of the school to the school and broader community and with prospective families while communicating the mission.
Engage and inform prospective parents and students about The Well School and the benefits of our education on an individual and small-group basis.
Inspire the community to actively participate in admissions events including; individual and group tours, student shadow visits, curricular information sessions, student observations/testing/interview, parent-to-parent connections, and individual family conversations.
Establish and maintain positive relationships with area educational constituencies including area schools, consultants, admissions directors and organizations, and create networking opportunities.
Lead and develop a communications plan with prospective families to move them from inquiry to enrollment.
Oversee and participate in the development of admissions materials, events and marketing practices.
Coordinate systematic and efficient handling of applications and communications with parents of student applicants so that the process supports and honors the student and their families.
Manage parent and student expectations and deliver admissions decisions in a manner that is honest, caring, and diplomatic.
Oversee the selection process of new students including the work of the admissions and financial aid committee and maintain the school’s historic admissions statistics.
Manage and support the financial aid process and participate in policy decisions, messaging/communications, and award review meetings.
Put strong project management skills into action
Maintain, edit, and update the school website
Responsible for graphic design, layout, and content for social media marketing/advertisement, and email campaigns
Photograph/record events and campus life, on and off-campus for use on the website, social media, and current parent/past parent/alumni communications in order to aid admissions and development
Strong ability to connect to a wide range of audiences, integrating multiple points of view.
Experience with Blackbaud, Canva, along with email marketing software such as MailChimp
Facility with photography and video capture, editing, storage, management, and streaming;
Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, basic web design, and willingness to learn school-specific tools.
Manage the admissions and marketing budgets.
Represent and serve as an official spokesperson for The Well School, Summer Camp, and extracurricular programs at local events, fairs, and festivals.
Prepare appropriate summary reports for the school, the trustees, and the public.
Participate in professional development opportunities.
Assume responsibility for other projects as assigned by the Head of School.
Qualification Requirements
Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred, or equivalent experience
At least 3 to 5 years of teaching and/or administrative experience in a school or youth-serving organization
Supervisory experience
Successful track record working with a wide range of people
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with a professional and empathetic approach
Exceptional entrepreneurial and organizational skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Detail-oriented and able to work collaboratively
Computer literacy
High-energy and enthusiastic about working in an academic atmosphere
