Job Summary: | This part time position provides support to educational program delivery for educators affiliated with Washburn County Extension. The intent of the position is to act as a magnifier or multiplier of Extension educational programs in service of residents in Washburn County.
This position will serve as a public face of Extension and will provide support for two integral areas within the Washburn County Office, (1) administrative and project coordination and (2) develop and oversee marketing and communications for the Extension office.
Marketing and Communications: -Collaborate with staff to creatively write, design, edit and produce promotional and marketing materials across a variety of formats appealing to a range of diverse audiences. -Develop and coordinate communications from the Washburn Extension office. -Evaluate and develop Washburn County Extension's marketing strategy for educational programs. -Prepare and manage all communications, including media relations. -Assist with promotion of all educational programming through a communication plan that ensures effective interaction with audiences and stakeholders. -Share responsibility for creating, updating and/or maintaining the web presence of the county Extension offices using WordPress, Block Editor or other software as technology evolves.
General Administrative and Project Coordination: -Be responsive to evolving position, program, office, and organizational needs. -Serves as first point of contact for individuals and groups providing basic organizational information via phone, in person, and through other communication mediums, routing more complex inquiries to the appropriate entities. -Collaborate with local colleagues to promote a positive office environment, determine local needs, and share resources. |
Responsibilities: | Develops and drafts communication content and assists in the execution of the communications strategy in support of unit communication goals. - 10% Monitors reach and effectiveness of communication campaigns, projects, and initiatives
- 10% Plans editorial content according to established goals and objects
- 10% Communicates with stakeholders to verify requests and identify editorial resources
- 45% Writes, edits, and publishes content for various communication projects and marketing platforms to align with strategic initiatives and established communication campaigns
- 20% Provides project management and execution of communications programs, initiatives, and tactical plans
- 5% Provide office support and serve as primary point of contact for incoming inquiries

Additional Information: | -This position will preferably work in office on Thursdays and Fridays. Partial Remote work will be considered after successful completion of the probationary period. -Creatively write, design, edit and produce newsletters, marketing materials, web posts, news releases, videos, brochures, letters, reports and mailing lists existing templates for and employing programs including Word Press, InDesign, Microsoft Office and other online applications. Prepare material for printing service and/or electronic delivery. -Interpret the department's core purpose to a communications mission statement -Evaluate and improve office communication strategies based on needs and desires of intended audiences. -Create marketing strategies tailored to reach specific audiences. -Coordinate marketing messages for UW- Madison Division of Extension staff for multiple media messaging by collaborating with office staff member for use with all media so they complement the core purpose and adhere to the communications mission statement.
