The University of Iowa's Tippie College of Business seeks a Marketing Writer to join the Collegiate Marketing Team.

We're looking for a well-rounded writer who can help us truly deliver on our vision to create content across multiple channels via research-based blogs and articles, student stories, print and digital advertising, and marketing emails. This will be a hybrid position.

You're familiar with Search Engine Optimization best practices and how to write for them.
You have experience writing website copy and blog content.
You understand information architecture and content hierarchy.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND SPECIFIC JOB TASKS
Research/Information Gathering
Research and monitor emerging trends and best practices in higher education marketing.
Writing/Communication Content
Develop and write strategic content marketing pieces such as research-based articles, informative blog/newsletter posts, infographics, and interview write-ups.
Help achieve branding and enrollment goals via relevant, timely messages.
Create content that is in sync with buyer journey and personas, using clear calls-to-action that advance the audience further along in their decision-making process.
Develop a deep understanding of Tippie's programs to help identify and fill content gaps based on audience needs.
Adhere to Tippie's brand voice and tone.
Brainstorm and collaborate with the marketing team on new ideas and strategies.
Help develop and adhere to a content calendar.
Collaborate with the communications team to both advise and distribute their content across marketing platforms
Produce copy for other materials as needed.
Editing/Proofing
Edit, proofread, and fact check all content.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degreepreferably in English, Journalism, Marketing, Communications, Advertising, or a closely related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Qualifications
At least one year of relevant marketing writing experience.
Creativity and ability to tailor the style of writing to reflect the audience.
A keen eye for detail, with excellent spelling, grammar and punctuation skills.
Effectively manage time, concurrently working on multiple projects.
Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.
Ability to adhere to an institutional style guide and brand standards
Solid understanding of how design and copy work together
Experience interviewing sources and extracting interesting stories
Desired Qualifications
Experience working in higher education.
Track record of using research and data to help bolster creative decisions.
Ability to produce high-quality work under a deadline, while remaining positive amid constructive feedback.
