Under general Supervision of the Director, Robert & Frances Fullerton Museum of Art, the Marketing, Membership, and Engagement Coordinator will perform specialized communications public affairs, marketing, and events support for the Fullerton Art Museum.
Major duties and responsibilities
Regular monitoring and maintenance of the museum web site.
Regular monitoring and updates to RAFFMA's social networks: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.,
Keeping abreast with all the university and community events and helping to coordinate the museum programs.
Planning and coordinating the promotion of all the museum's exhibitions and events,
Seeking new and innovative marketing opportunities and channels,
Working closely with the College of Arts and Letters marketing team and the university's strategic communication office,
Organizing marketing and Public Relations events, including donor events,
Coordination a publication of RAFFMA newsletter.
Membership and Outreach:
Administration of the museum membership group friends of RAFFMA and is in charge of all the Friends related projects, which include:
Design and maintenance of related files and mailing lists, and renewals.
Planning and implementing membership campaigns, member events and activities.
Regular communication with members.
Work with Docent, Volunteers and Interns on programs, projects, and tours.
Planning and implementing a variety of engagement events for various groups such as Docents, students, faculty, staff, community, etc.; working closely with the education staff.
Monitoring (and adjusting, as needed) RAFFMA's engagement efforts. Working closely with the Board of Advocates, getting all kinds of community feedback.
Minimum Qualifications: Required Education and Experience
Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a related field
four (4) years of related professional or technical experience required.
Thorough knowledge of and ability to engage effectively media outlets including planning media coverage and media publicity campaigns for the university and events.
Ability to keep abreast of campus events and subject matter expertise in relation to current events and identify and capitalize on media opportunities that will promote the university and increase positive media coverage.
Thorough knowledge of web communication techniques, vehicles and formats.
Ability to effectively use web technology to achieve communication goals.
Strong story development and journalistic writing skills, as well as advanced editorial skills.
Knowledge of interview techniques and the ability to define and deliver media messages.
Working knowledge of marketing and research techniques and methods.
Ability to apply market research to identify communication needs and target audiences.
Exceptional interpersonal skills, including strong public speaking, listening and interpretive skills.
Ability to provide lead work direction.
Demonstrated ability to engage directly with the public representing the museum
Compensation and Benefits:
Anticipated Hiring Range: $3761- $4800 per month
Classification Salary Range: $3761- $6,803 per month
The CSU system provides a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision plans, membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), sick and vacation time, and 14 paid holidays a year. Work status: Full-time/Exempt/Probationary
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm. Some evenings & weekends are required based on scheduled events and programs.
