The position of Assistant Director of Marketing will provide support for the strategic marketing initiatives of the Athletics Department and assigned sport programs. The Department of Athletics uses marketing and promotional strategies extensively to generate revenue, maximize attendance and to create a first-class game environment.
Key Duties and Responsibilities include:
Plan and execute all web, SEO/SEM, database marketing, email, social media, and display advertising campaigns.
Lead implementation of digital marketing campaigns to generate revenue and effectively engage with fan base.
Evaluate, measure and report performance of digital campaigns.
Identify trends and assist with the study of analytics to help make data-driven decisions to optimize spend and performance.
Assist the Assistant AD, Marketing with engagement strategies.
Direct email marketing strategies and management.
Oversee the Virginia Sports Mobile App, collaborating with marketing and athletics communications staffs on execution and best practices.
Direct the development of strategic marketing initiatives on behalf of assigned sports.
Provide exemplary customer service to internal and external constituencies.
Other duties, as assigned.

Ability to leverage paid and internal digital marketing channels to drive revenue and fan engagement.
Ability to analyze data from multiple sources to make informed decisions.
Ability to present a professional demeanor while delivering a high level of internal and external customer service.
Ability to work evenings and weekends to meet the business needs of the unit.
Ability to write proposals and scripts and the ability to describe ideas, and/or plans clearly and effectively in written format.
Ability to communicate clearly and to convey thoughts, ideas and plans clearly to coaches, administrators and other athletics staff members.
Ability to perform multiple tasks and responsibilities in an efficient manner.

Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's Degree in English or Communications.
Experience
At least one year of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Education
Master's Degree
Experience
2-4 years of Athletics marketing, digital engagement, advertising and/or data analytics experience.
Knowledge of website and marketing analytics tools.
Familiarity with digital marketing platforms, including paid social, Google Search, Display and Discovery as well as Google Analytics.
Computer Applications: Familiarity with Adobe PhotoShop.
