Position Summary:

Reporting to the Assistant Athletic Director of Marketing & Community Engagement, the Digital Marketing Specialist will specialize in digital content creation and digital campaigns to generate revenue and support for UC Irvine Athletics 18 Division I sports. The ideal candidate will have a strong video, photo, and graphic design skill set as well as experience serving as the primary 'voice' for specific social media accounts. The position will create, manage, and execute social media content strategy for all 18 Division I sports and Athletic Department social accounts. Serving as the primary community specialist while working with all content contributors to develop best practices, oversight of content, and security of accounts. The position will lead the department social media committee to develop cross-unit best practices and coverage. Works closely with media relations, compliance, development, coaches and student-athletes to communicate strategy, best practices, and foster a collaborative environment. Recruit, manage and train digital media student intern staff. Set and meet goals for growth in fan engagement, revenue and followers across multiple platforms and accounts. Coordinate departments paid media efforts. Serve as the marketing lead for website and app provider. Develop microsites for specific campaigns or initiatives.

Preferred 2 years experience working in a University or Athletic setting.
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Solid knowledge of marketing principles, concepts, strategies and best practices. Written and interpersonal communication skills. Organizational skills and skills in file creation, maintenance and management. Knowledge of customer service standards / procedures.
Preferred:
Solid knowledge of institutional products and services. Knowledge of the campus and / or medical center including its achievements, mission, vision, goals, objectives and infrastructure.
Special Conditions Required:
Must be willing to work nights, weekends or holidays Must be willing to travel when needed.
