MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS STRATEGIST, Center for Transportation & Logistics (CTL), to take a lead role in implementing communications and marketing outreach strategies in support of CTL's mission/goals; and manage the implementation of comprehensive communications, marketing, and promotional projects/activities. Responsibilities include serving as a strategist on designing, developing, and managing a comprehensive way to communicate with individuals who have or could have a relationship with the center; developing and managing an engagement pipeline of industry partners; designing, developing, and managing the engagement ladder that moves prospects to higher levels of engagement; working with and serving as communications strategist for CTL's research labs/initiatives/academic programs; ensuring timeliness, effectiveness, and high engagement of external messaging for labs/programs; conceptualizing and collaborating on content for external communications and platforms; providing design input; and performing other duties as needed.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: bachelor's degree; seven years' related marketing, communications, and/or community engagement experience; high-level proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and content management software (Constant Contact, MailChimp, etc.); proficiency with social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, WordPress, etc.); basic HTML knowledge; excellent interpersonal skills for working with MIT researchers, students, and faculty and when representing CTL to external journalists/media; and excellent organizational, writing, proofreading and verbal communication skills. Must be able to collaborate effectively with a wide range of employees at all levels, quickly adapt to new communications technologies and contribute to the development of evolving tools as developed, and multitask and juggle multiple requests simultaneously. PREFERRED: master's degree in a related field; journalism, content marketing, or other communications writing experience; flexibility/adaptability; proficiency with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce); and experience working for or within a large corporation.
