About the Role
Boston University Admissions seeks an Assistant Director for Admissions Marketing & Communication. This role's primary responsibility is to manage the internal approval process of over 1,000 emails and letters designed to attract, influence, and inform target audiences regarding the benefits and value of an undergraduate education at Boston University. This position drafts, edits, designs, and proofreads all emails and letters, sets up and manages communication streams and templates in the Admissions CRM, and selects criteria for audience data. The Assistant Director develops targeted communications about each of the school's and college's programs and assists the Associate Director for Direct Marketing & CRM Operations with application portal updates and maintenance. The role manages email analytics by tracking data in Google Analytics and utilizing industry best practices, such as UTM tags, to help inform the Marketing Team's email strategy. This position reports to Associate Director, Direct Marketing and CRM Operations of Admissions.
The Assistant Director works closely with staff from the 10 undergraduate schools and colleges as well as other admissions staff.
The Assistant Director's primary duties include:
- Drafting, editing, designing, and proofreading over 1,000 emails and letters sent annually to prospective students, applicants, admitted students, school counselors, and parents;
- Working with Marketing & Communications team and other admissions staff to develop core messaging to persuasively communicate the benefits and value of a BU education;
- Managing extensive review and approval process for all emails and letters sent by the Undergraduate Admissions Office and BU's undergraduate schools and colleges to prospective students;
- Routing communications for approval by various stakeholders, such as Associate Directors, Director of Admissions, and Associate Vice President for Enrollment & Dean of Admissions;
- Coordinating communications calendar with Associate Director for Direct Marketing & CRM Operations;
- Providing creative input to Associate Director for Direct Marketing & CRM Operations and other members of the Marketing & Communications team;
- Editing and proofreading content for print publications, social media, and admissions website and;
- Assisting in monitoring BU Admissions social media accounts.
