The Marketing Strategist develops strategic marketing plans for various campus initiatives, including but not limited to student recruitment, colleges, departments, and administrative offices. The Marketing Strategist will also execute and optimize marketing plans (email communication plans, direct mail, and event marketing) while partnering with the creative, web, and customer relationship management (CRM) platform teams.
Job functions and responsibilities:
Marketing Strategy
- Develops strategic marketing plans for recruitment and retention for colleges, departments, and administration
- Stays current on best practices for customer relationship management (CRM) including email communication plans, direct mail, and event marketing
- Ensures effective communication and strong understanding of strengths and needs of clients (colleges, department, and administration)
- Ensures marketing strategy includes plan for tracking and reporting
Communication Plan Development
- Develops communication plan for student recruitment, colleges, departments, and administration
- Uses information gathered during each stage of the prospect pipeline to adjust the communications plan
- Provides copywriting and editing for communication plan
- Collaborates with recruitment and enrollment team to create and make improvements to communication plan
- Collaborates with creative team to create communication plan components
- Collaborates with CRM platform and marketing tools team to develop emails and journeys
Project Management
- Develops marketing strategy plan and collaborates with creative, CRM platform, and web teams to ensure team is completing work on time
- Communicates with clients (colleges, departments, and administration) on project status
- Uses report tools to measure and report results of projects at each stage
- Stays up to date on technical requirements of each project
Copywriting
- Writes compelling, action-focused, trackable, and reportable email content for communication journeys
Event and Outreach
- Provides guidance on best practices for planning events
- Provides support to events
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- Knowledge of best practices and ability to create communication plan (email, direct mail, event)
- Strong understanding and skill of project management and event management
- Excellent written communication skills and expertise in copywriting and editing
- Excellent communication skills with partners across campus
- Ability to measure success and create consistent reports
- Ability to work with a wide group of individuals across campus
- Abilities in Microsoft 360 (including Teams)
- Experience with project management software (Monday.com), CRM, and marketing software (Miscrosoft Dynamics)

Minimum Qualifications: Typically requires a bachelor's degree in marketing and communication or relevant field, and two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Two to four years' experience and experience with project management software (Monday.com), CRM, and marketing software (Miscrosoft Dynamics) are preferred.
