Assistant Athletic Director of Marketing, Promotions, & Fan Engagement (Marketing Generalist)

This position reports to the Sr. Associate Athletic Director/External Affairs. The Assistant Athletic Director will be responsible for providing leadership for all marketing and promotions areas while actively participating in revenue generation and external functions for the Athletics Department.
Develops and implements an aggressive marketing, advertising, and promotion plan for all areas of supervision with a focus on increasing revenue, student and fan attendance, in-game and pre-game experiences, and ticket sales.
Increases awareness through print and electronic media, advertising, web content, community partners, and social media platforms.
Develops and executes short-term and long-term plans geared towards increasing visibility and brand awareness.
Creates, develops, implements, and executes the fan engagement plan, and all initiatives to increase exposure for IUPUI Athletics in the local communities, campus, state, and regionally.
Creates and develops marketing plans for all sports. Creates game scripts to match the game day marketing plans; organizes many other special events.
Manages the cheer and mascot programs while working closely with the pep band. Develops departmental policies and procedures.
Establishes goals and objectives.
Manages budgets for all areas of supervision.
Collaborates with the sales manager and ticket/group sales manager, ensuring marketing commitments are fulfilled by reviewing marketing/advertising agreements for fulfillment.
Creates, implements, and executes fan engagement plans for all sports.
Evaluates programs and make changes when appropriate.
Coordinates and supervises the distribution of promotional materials.
Manages Athletics social media accounts.
Independently develops and executes basic and increasingly more complex strategic marketing plans for a department or functional area within a department to advance goals and objectives, including data collection and market research, target market definition, development of project timelines, sourcing of promotional materials, and marketing content creation.
Responds to inquiries and requests from stakeholders and explain information regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
Manages relationships with various internal and external stakeholders, including vendors, and acts as a collaborative resource in curating marketing plans for relevant initiatives, groups, events, and programs.
Regularly researches relevant subject matter to increase knowledge in area(s) of specialty, including information on various marketing channels (print, online, electronic, email, social media, and direct mail).
May participate in team-based marketing planning to align strategies and deadlines across various concurrent projects and initiatives.
Collaborates with users of various software programs and creative platforms to create and deliver content and marketing materials in multiple formats to a variety of audiences.
May provide guidance to lower-level Marketing Generalists.
Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, English, public relations, or related field
