Under the direction of the Director of Brand Management and Marketing and in close collaboration with the National Reputation Building Analyst, the purpose of this position is to improve perceptions of UC Davis Health at the national level targeting physician audiences. The work will be informed by the development of a detailed strategic marketing/communications plan that will be adjusted annually based on rankings reports. Daily work focuses on marketing the institution nationally using a variety of media outlets, coordinating with departments for content development, media implementation, media management and outcomes reporting.

Bachelor’s degree in communications, business, marketing or related field
Five or more years of experience working in health institution marketing/communications including working with paid and earned media, email, direct mail, etc.
Experience developing and implementing comprehensive marketing plans
Experience researching and analyzing information to identify trends, issues and potential invalid data
Skilled reporting on progress of projects for informal briefings, formal presentations and more
Strong problem-solving ability, including metrics-driven thinking
Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize work independently
Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to interact effectively and cooperatively with a wide range of individuals, including faculty, physicians and staff, business professionals, patients, consumers and vendors
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships throughout the organization and community
Proven ability to write clear and concise business communications, with accurate spelling, grammar and punctuation. Excellent editing and proofreading skills to produce clear, error-free documents
Advanced proficiency with all MS Office applications, including MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel
Exceptional customer-service skills including problem-solving, cooperative language, empathy, flexibility and the ability to work with clients and staff within the department for quick and effective responses and problem-resolution
Working knowledge of project management software, preferably Wrike
Experienced with website content development and the ability to use Content Management System
Customer Relationship Management experience
Knowledge of AP style
Strong knowledge of health care operations in a managed care environment, including understanding of interrelationship between health plan, medical group and provider selection
Knowledge of UC Davis Health and its services, locations and accepted health plans
Knowledge of and experience with trafficking of advertisements across multiple mediums
