The Marketing and Communications Manager, under the direction of Member Relations VP, will develop and implement strategic marketing and communication plans that includes all company platforms of written and digital publications, web, and social media. This role is responsible for development and distribution of marketing and communication materials that include but are not limited to brochures, posters, publications, videos, social campaigns, and other promotional items used to educate cooperative members. Maintains the image of the organization through the implementation of creative solutions to support the department and cooperative-wide initiatives as well as drive leads for the development of new services.
Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the department.
Oversees the daily workflow of the marketing and communications campaigns.
Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
Manages discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

Gathers and analyzes information to identify new markets and customers, demand for products and services, and efficacy of existing marketing campaigns and strategies.
Conducts market research, sales forecasting, and strategic planning to assess and ensure the sale and profitability of products and new product development.
Conducts research and analysis to ensure competitive product and service pricing.
Maintains knowledge of trends and developments in the market; identifies needs for new products and services and makes recommendations to leadership.
Analyzes and evaluates financial aspects of product development and new market rollout
Manager collaboration in the development of new products.
Composes, develops, evaluates, and conducts training on marketing activities, strategies, and policies.
Collaborates, participates in, and coordinates promotional activities, community events, and trade shows.
Negotiates contracts for services needed to execute a marketing strategy.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Attends trade shows, community fairs, and networking events to drive company awareness and fiber leads.

Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing or related field required.
Minimum 10 years of relative work experience that include developing/implementing marketing and communications campaigns.
Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
Ability to create, implement, and monitor budgets.
Thorough understanding of principles and methods used to promote, display, and sell products and services.
Technical and journalistic writing skills are required.
Experience providing content and assisting with production of various communication pieces as part of data-driven campaigns.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel.
Experience with the design and production of print materials is required.
Strong oral and written communications skills are required.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite is required.
Photography, videography, and video editing skills are preferred.
Skills and ability to develop and execute presentations, represent WRVEC to varying audiences.
Must have and maintain a valid Missouri driver’s license.
Ability and willingness to travel up to 20%, including overnight travel.
Inside office environment with regular posted office hours and occasional overtime, including weekends and holidays if necessary.
Physical Effort and Dexterity:
Frequent physical activity to include sitting at a desk for prolonged periods of time, standing, walking, stooping, bending, lifting, and carrying materials under fifteen pounds.
Machines, Tools, an Equipment:
Capable of operating a personal computer, calculator, printer, copy machine, telephone, shredder, and any other required office equipment.
Visual Acuity, Hearing and Speaking:
Comfortable speaking on the telephone and via online conference tools. Must be able to communicate clearly and accurately for work and safety compliance.
Majority of work will be performed indoors. Normal office safety precautions and practices are required. Position may require travel to acquire supplies from time to time. The regular work schedule is Monday through Friday.
