The WUTK-FM Radio is seeking applications and nominations for a full-time Underwriting and Marketing Manager to lead its marketing and promotional endeavors, recruit new clients and meet current client needs, serve as a leader to students pursuing a career in broadcast media and marketing, recruit new students and keep current students engaged, and be a team player.
Underwriting and Marketing
Sell multi-media marketing solutions including radio, digital, and sponsorship opportunities to clients inside and outside the WUTK listening area
Research potential clients and become familiar with the goods and services that each offer
Guides clients through the process of starting a radio or digital marketing campaign and educates clients on ways in which WUTK will benefit their business
Implement the marketing plan for each contract
Meet a twelve thousand dollar monthly minimum underwriting goal
Apply long-term strategy planning to ensure all content aligns with WUTK's brand
Manage day-to-day implementation of social media strategy and advertising for WUTK
Proactively research, report, and develop strategies to drive creation and adoption of new social media opportunities for the organization
Create e-blasts, social media posts, and website posts while reviewing all promotional information and graphics
Represent WUTK at events, acting as a Brand Ambassador both on and off campus, including set-up and breakdown of pop-up tents and tables, hanging banners, interacting with listeners, and registering people to win prizes
Execute proper technical and physical set-up and breakdown of remote broadcasts and station events
Collaborate with students to create and execute promotions such as remotes, events, team activities from start to finish
Encourage brand extension and public exposure for WUTK
Teach, advise, and train students in radio skills, particularly in sales and promotional tasks
Provide hands-on experience to students by participating in sales calls, writing script for underwriting, working events, etc.
Recruit students to participate in sales and promotional activities
Trains students how to coordinate promotional events
Work with students to create and execute digital media goals
Coordinate with unit to prepare contest rules, waivers, and release forms for on-air, digital, and social media
Produce orders, contracts, and customer information to Office Manager in a timely manner
Provide information about event dates, start times, etc.
Track and report up-to-date client information for billing purposes
Other duties as assigned by General Manager of WUTK
