MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR, Center for Transportation & Logistics (CTL), to lead marketing and communications strategy in collaboration with leadership from CTL's educational, research, and outreach areas. Will manage marketing and communications and events staff; lead the development and execution of comprehensive communications, marketing, and promotional plans/projects/activities in support of CTL's mission and goals; and participate in strategy-setting with senior management.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: bachelor's degree; five years' experience overseeing integrated marketing and communications functions, preferably within higher education; experience managing staff, including freelance/contract resources and engagements with external partners/agencies; high-level proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat), HTML and CSS, and web content management and analytic tools (Drupal, WordPress, Google Analytics); proficiency with communication and collaboration tools and platforms and with using and creating content for various social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, and WordPress, etc.); ability to work effectively with a wide range of employees at all levels, including laterally managing collaborators to achieve collective outcomes; excellent interpersonal skills for working with researchers, students, and faculty at MIT and when representing the center to journalists and the media; ability to quickly adapt to new communications technologies and contribute to the development of evolving tools as developed; excellent organizational, writing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills; and ability to multitask and juggle multiple requests simultaneously. PREFERRED: master's degree in a related field; journalism, content marketing, or other communications writing experience; flexibility and adaptability; collaboration skills; and proficiency with Salesforce or similar CRM. Salary range: $100,000-130,000
Must be able to work occasional evenings and early mornings for special events.
