The Assistant Director of Marketing & Fan Experience will assist in the Athletic Department’s efforts to maximize attendance at our events through traditional and non-traditional marketing and promotional opportunities, serving as the primary contact for Volleyball and select Olympic sports as well as the secondary contact for men’s basketball . In this role, you will serve as a member of the intercollegiate athletics marketing team that is involved in all aspects of marketing for all of our teams, including: planning, advertising, promotion, public relations, program and product development, distribution, and research to meet the department’s goals and objectives. In addition, you will provide exceptional customer service to fans, donors, staff and friends of Purdue University as well as written and oral communication as needed.
Bachelor’s Degree
2 year’s of progressive marketing, promotions and in-game promotion management experience
Must be able to encompass the strategic mission of Purdue University and Intercollegiate Athletics with tact and diplomacy at all times
Strong interpersonal, creative, motivational and communication skills are essential, including the ability to communicate well in writing and speaking before groups
Excellent organizational, project management, problem-solving and customer service skills
Ability to influence and build work relationships among a diverse workforce at all levels
Must be able to effectively meet established deadlines in a timely manner
Must possess a learning orientation to changing technology impacting athletics marketing, promotions and communications processes
Significant knowledge of Microsoft Office
Demonstrable proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite
Fluency of social media platforms outside of personal use
Ability to communicate and adhere to University, Big Ten Conference and NCAA policies, procedures, rules and regulations
