The Marketing and Communications Manager in the College of Engineering at Northeastern University reports to the Director of Marketing and Communications and is a graphic designer, digital marketer, and project manager.
The position designs, produces, and distributes a wide range of print and digital communications to build the brand reputation of the College of Engineering, market graduate degree programs, and support college department and program communication needs in alignment with university brand guidelines and college priorities. The position will also project manage for select campaigns, initiatives, and events the creative deliverable and communication development across team specialty areas (writing, web, video, multimedia, etc.) and approval processes. Examples of creative deliverables include research briefs, scholarship reports, postcards, new faculty brochures, recruiting ads, banner ads, social media ads, one-page degree or development brochures, presentations, college brochures, website photos/graphics, event print and digital signage, invitations, and giveaway artwork. The Marketing and Communications Manager may also participate as needed in the storyline/format of select video and photo productions, writing communications/collateral, and website updates as projects require.
As a digital marketer, the Marketing and Communications Manager participates in the development, execution, measurement, management, and reporting of digital marketing lead generation campaigns across social media and the web, working with both outside agencies and implementing in-house projects. The position will also set up campaigns using Marketo, Salesforce, and Google Analytics. Additionally, the position partners with Northeastern's Graduate School of Engineering recruiting and admissions team to support creative and digital marketing needs. The position is eligible for a hybrid alternative work arrangement.
A bachelor's degree in graphic design, marketing, communications, or related field is required, as well as a minimum of five years of experience in a marketing or communications environment, preferably in higher education. A minimum of three years of graphics design experience is required including solid skills in design concept, development, and production of print collateral including working with printers. Candidates should also have experience in digital design and a strong skill set in Adobe Photoshop, Indesign, and Illustrator. After Effects is a plus. The position will also use digital tools such as Mailchimp. Additionally, a minimum of three years of direct experience in digital marketing (web and social media) is required including having proficient skills using Marketo, Salesforce and Google Analytics. The position requires a professional service-oriented demeanor and strong collaboration, teamwork, and project management skills, as well as the ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
