WHAT YOU'LL DO
This position is in our Hospital/Government group. The role will be accountable for the following: 1. implementation of strategy, scope, process and programs which drive marketing; 2. providing significant and positive impact to short-term, mid-range and long-term organizational goals; 3. demonstrating continual improvement in commercial processes; 4. creating a work environment that supports cross-functional team effectiveness; 5. management and development of reporting staff; mentor others as appropriate; As a result of the responsibilities of this position there is a high level of risk and visibility inherent with this position. Demonstrates appropriate level of leadership experience to lead and influence both with and without direct authority; exercises independent judgment in developing methods and techniques for problem-solving and / or process improvement; will interact frequently with Division management with executive responsibility, corporate staff and outside agencies and therefore requires high levels of competence, confidence and credibility; strategic and tactical decisions will be made based upon data this individual provides and / or presents in a management or informal setting; consequences of erroneous decisions or recommendations would negatively impact the goals of the organization;.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING
Required:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required; advanced degree preferred
Typically requires 12 years of progressively responsible experience to develop the competence required to meet the skills and responsibilities of the position
Preferred:
Ability to motivate and lead a diverse staff to drive the execution of critical strategies and programs across a large organization; - understanding of the complexities of the diagnostics market and customer needs; - ability to accurately evaluate and assess complex processes; identify possible solutions and drive to resolution; - ability to negotiate, troubleshoot, assess, remediate; ability to make sound decisions; - ability to lead and influence both with and without direct authority; - background of success in growing markets; - ability to clearly, concisely and accurately convey communications; - ability to form and develop interpersonal, professional relationships; displays socially and professionally appropriate behavior; - ability to work independently and in groups; ability to collaborate across the business, across Abbott businesses and with outside resources; - knowledge of applicable US and non-US Quality System Requirements and other relevent regulations for medical devices; · ability to accurately evaluate and assess complex processes; identify possible solutions and drive to resolution; · ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and outside professionals
