Detailed Job DescriptionResponsible for developing and maintaining multiple web-based applications and websites for University Advancement. Responsible for the entire web development process for the division including testing and documentation of processes where needed as well as providing on-going support and updates of web applications. Follows industry best practices in application/web design and development, both in terms of the user interface and site usability as well as the integration of the front-end design with back-end server technologies. Must be able to work collaboratively, be deadline oriented and eager to learn and employ new web technologies.
Major Responsibilities:
- Create, manipulate and maintain high-quality web based applications and technologies based on system design specifications and with regard to the overall user experience.
- Apply systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users in the division and across campus, to determine software functional specifications.
- Ensure optimization and functionality of websites designed; conduct usability testing where necessary.
- Create and maintain website content and graphics; build micro-sites and landing pages as needed and in support of fundraising and alumni engagement goals.
- Develop dynamic websites using forms, authentication, database integration, automated email responses, and client and server-side validation.
- Work with customers to gather needs assessment and respond to shifting needs.
- Interact with internal partners and external vendors on web initiatives.
- Monitor web server and technical performance of websites.
- Provide training to others in the division specific to the internally facing work request portal and the content management system, Drupal.
- Able to work within and adhere to the university's brand, web, information security and accessibility standards.
- Utilize Blackbaud Luminate Online (or similar system) to:
- Design, coordinate, create, schedule and distribute broadcast emails.
- Set up the alumni events and corresponding landing pages to facilitate registration; maintain all necessary forms.
- Create team-based fundraising pages in support of the Crowdfunding at RIT program.
- Build appropriate giving forms that enable online donations to be taken easily and securely.

Required Minimum Qualifications- Three to five years of web development experience. Web technology, marketing tools and systems administration required.
- Educational background that combines marketing and computer science/web development is ideal.
- Experience with
- HTML, PHP, CSS, JavaScript, XML
- Web content management systems, including theming
- CMS implementation using Drupal or willingness to learn Drupal
- Use of CSS media queries to build responsive websites
- Software development life-cycle process, software quality assurance processes, and source code control
- Successfully dealing with cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility issues
- Working with web-database application development
- Image manipulation in PhotoShop
- JavaScript libraries like JQuery
- Video editing a plus
- Experience monitoring industry trends, technologies, and standards and ability to research, recommend, and apply new technologies as they emerge.
- Experience communicating technical issues with non-technical people using both verbal and written communications.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
