Job Summary This maternity cover position is responsible for promoting and advancing CME Group's overall image on a global scale across all major audiences through events, corporate initiatives, sponsorships and conferences. The position supports the company's overall corporate marketing and event management strategies. The role assists with developing and implementing marketing campaigns; tracking data; maintaining promotional materials inventory; planning meetings, trade shows and events in person and virtually; maintaining databases; preparing reports. Responsible as an event manager for the planning and execution of CME Group event and brand initiatives in both domestic and international regions
Principal Accountabilities and Job Requirements:
Plans and executes CME Group internal and external special events and conferences in-person and virtually, delivering world class events to meet business goals and objectives of internal stakeholders
Actively measures and communicates event success through post event feedback and reports, identifying key learnings and improvements for repeat events.
Manages multi-currency event budgets and invoice processing ensuring events are delivered within or under budget
Ensures brand standards are consistently applied across all digital and physical event assets.
Researches and procures premium items for specific events or product marketing campaigns alongside *Gifts.
Acts as a liaison and builds and maintains relationships with various suppliers, industry organizations, exchanges and affiliate partners, and clients.
Works with creative team to develop event invitations and other branded assets to promote events.
Manages event rsvp lists and client data in event campaigns according to GDPR regulations.
Proactively researches venues, virtual platforms and event concepts
Represents CME Group at related functions and ensure representation at key events.
Performs various administrative functions in support of Corporate Marketing & Event Management colleagues.
Skills and software requirements:
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Salesforce.com , Marketing Automation Software (Pardot), Jira, Smartsheet, experience in Cvent would be beneficial.
Excellent interpersonal skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Great team player, able to build strong working relationships across all areas of the business
Must be able to work in a dynamic team environment and juggle diverse/multiple projects - both senior management and cross functional teams.
More than 5 years of experience in financial event/meeting management
Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Communications, Marketing, or equivalent
Ability to work independently as well as within in a collaborative, professional environment
Must be flexible and solution-oriented with the ability to manage multiple deadline-driven projects, with excellent time management and organizational skills
Strong attention to detail, planning and decision-making skills including the ability to effectively negotiate pricing and contracts to ensure costs are managed and deadlines are met.
Ability to travel as required including site inspections and onsite support. May include evenings and weekends.
