Lake Washington Girls Middle School Director of Marketing and Communications
100% FTE – Eligible for Full Benefits Start Date: July 2021
Lake Washington Girls Middle School (LWGMS), located in Seattle’s North Beacon Hill, is searching for someone with a creative mind and can-do attitude.
We need your passion for all things Communication and Design to help us broaden the reach and recognition of Seattle’s most innovative girls school that is raising the next generation of changemakers. But in addition to your on-point communication and design skills, we want your ideas and passion for creating and implementing outside-the-box communications plans and related deliverables – for both internal and external audiences – to help the school achieve strategic objectives and to drive engagement.
The basics of the job will be simple for an experienced communications specialist:
Oversee day-to-day health and maintenance of all things website and social media.
Develop and implement online and physical promotional campaigns and pieces.
Manage media schedules, demographic and market research, and budgets.
Collaborate with the Head of School, Development, and Admissions teams to explore and develop collateral and initiatives that reflect our commitment to equity, social justice, and leadership as innovators in education.
But, we want more!
We want your expertise AND your input on how we can reach and engage our larger community. As our chief storyteller, you will have the opportunity to influence our current and future direction as an institutional change agent that aims to re-shape our world by empowering girls to be strong in mind, body, and voice.
LWGMS serves just under 120 students in grades six through eight. Founded in 1998, the school has an innovative and holistic approach to educating adolescent girls*—fostering academic excellence, creative confidence, positive risk-taking, and the development of individual talents. Academic core curriculum is enriched and stretched by a focus on performance and public speaking, an integrated arts program, a STEAM curriculum, an outdoor education program, and teaching for social justice. Social-emotional learning is essential and inherent in all that we do. Faculty and staff collaborate in developing, planning, and implementing programs, and our values of “Respect and Responsibility” infuse the school’s culture.
*LWGMS uses the word “girls” to include anyone who identifies as or has been socialized as a girl.
