Assistant Professor in Marketing - Tenure Track

The Palumbo Donahue School of Business Administration at Duquesne University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Marketing, beginning Fall 2021. Applicants with interests in professional selling, digital marketing, and/or international marketing are especially welcome. Responsibilities include scholarship, service, and teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels. New tenure-track faculty teach an initial base load of 5 classes per academic year. Support We offer a collegial environment, competitive salaries, easy access to the vibrant Pittsburgh business community, and financial support for high-quality research and teaching. Specifically, the School offers a summer grant program (with priority given to junior faculty), ongoing funding for scholarship, plus research and teaching awards for our best faculty. We also subscribe to several research databases and offer research-active faculty graduate student support. There are currently 10 named faculty positions in the School, 5 of which are rotating faculty fellowships aimed at recently tenured associate professors. School and Department The AACSB-accredited Palumbo-Donahue School of Business has approximately 1500 undergraduate and graduate students. The Management and Marketing Department supports several degree programs, including the B.S.B.A (majors include international business, marketing, management, and entrepreneurship), the MBA (online, part-time and full-time), and the online M.S. in Management. The Department has 22 full-time faculty members including 6 tenured or tenure-track faculty focusing on marketing. Over the past 5 academic years, these faculty members have published in leading outlets such as Journal of Public Policy and Marketing, Journal of Consumer Behavior, Services Marketing Quarterly, and Journal of Retailing. The Department is also home to 4 active centers (i.e., in ethics, entrepreneurship, professional selling, and sustainable business innovation). For instance, the Center for Leadership in Professional Selling has a vibrant advisory council, corporate sponsorship program, and hosts the annual Steel City Sales Challenge while the Viragh Institute for Ethics in Business produces an annual research-oriented book series, Business and Society 360. Duquesne is a comprehensive university with about 9,000 undergraduate and graduate students in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
