Technical Marketing Manager - 2002563 - Portland, OR

Where the Chemistry Happens

The Technical Marketing Manager- Semiconductor will be part of the Electronic Materials team and will be based in Hillsboro, Oregon, supporting the overall success of the Global Electronic Materials business unit. The position will be responsible for the management of customer and tool supplier projects to foster new business development activities.

With direction from the Business and Account Management NA, the Technical Marketing Manager will be responsible for growing the BASF Electronic Materials business with key NA customers and strategic partners in the semiconductor industry.


Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
Formula for Success
  • Identify industry specific requirements, unmet customer needs, and key growth drivers
  • Project leader for US customer and tool supplier projects to benefit both regional and global organizations. Set project timeline, work closely with the global technical team to design and execute experiments and make sure on-time delivery.
  • Conduct business potential evaluation and secure new business development opportunities either by launching new products or marketing existing products.
  • Initiate and foster strategic co-operations with tool suppliers and customers.
  • Explore the needs of next generation products and collects marketing information on new opportunities.
  • Provide technical support to venture new applications or new product development opportunities with both customers and tool suppliers.
  • Motivate and inspire creativity and manage abstract concepts and ideas
  • Utilize your strong influencing and leadership skills in a highly creative environment spanning across NA and globally to lead and collaborate with other internal departments such as Sales, Supply-Chain, R & D, Product Management and Manufacturing.
REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Working knowledge of film deposition, Chemical Mechanical Polishing, photolithography and/or clean technology in silicon processing.
  • Ability to effectively communicate detailed and precise technical requirement, procedures, and results in written and oral formats.
  • Management experience in directing, coordinating and managing team activities to accomplish highly technical tasks.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
  • BS or a higher degree in a technical field is required.
  • Minimum of 8 years of total working experience in business or technical capacity
  • Proven ability to interface with key customer representatives in technical disciplines preferred
  • Good interpersonal skills and an ability to effectively communicate detailed and precise technical requirements, procedures, and results in written and oral format.
  • Self-starter, ability to work with limited supervision to achieve targets
  • Excellent communication and organization skills required
  • Ability and willingness to travel, minimum 25%
