Louisiana Tech University is seeking applications for the Assistant Director of Athletics Marketing position. This 12 – 24 month position will work as part of the Athletic Department's external affairs team, while gaining valuable experience in all facets of collegiate athletic administration working closely with Communications, Creative Video, Development, LA Tech Sports Properties (IMG Learfield), and Ticketing.
This individual will be charged with coordinating marketing and promotional activities for assigned sports, including the writing and preparing of comprehensive sports-specific marketing plans, assisting in the management of game day activities, and serving as the liaison with student groups. He or she will have a strong focus on increasing attendance, in-game experience, and fan engagement. This person will also be tasked with managing and growing the volunteer marketing “Street Team” and helping grow Champ’s Kids Club. A strong emphasis will be placed on input of content on the Louisiana Tech Athletics social media channels.
This professional will have direct oversight of athletics social media outreach and external email marketing campaigns with the goal of increasing revenue, engagement, and brand awareness. Utilize Ticketmaster TM1 system to develop targeted emails working closely with ticketing, communications and development. Work with communications to maintain the LA Tech Sports app and www.latechsports.com using Sidearm. Assist with digital fulfillment of sponsorship content in partnership with LA Tech Sports Properties (IMG Learfield).
This individual will also be tasked with enhancing the game day atmosphere at Louisiana Tech facilities that include the Thomas Assembly Center (basketball and volleyball), Joe Aillet Stadium (football), J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park (baseball), Dr. Billy Bundrick Field (softball), and more.
This position will receive a $1,200 monthly stipend and report directly to the Associate Director of Marketing. This position will also work closely with the Senior Associate Athletic Director – External Relations. An estimated start date for the position is March 15th.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field from a nationally accredited university
Excellent communication skills
Ability to thrive in a team environment
Knowledge of the functions of a collegiate athletics department
Preferred Qualifications:
2 years experience in a collegiate athletics role as an undergraduate student worker or graduate assistant
Intermediate experience with Adobe Creative Suite with examples of creative work
Previous experience managing game day atmosphere
Familiarity with sound director or similar music software
Experience managing student interns/workers
