Position Summary 

Marketing Operations Manager

The Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) is looking for a Marketing Operations Manager to join our fun, innovative, and passionate marketing team. 

The Marketing Operations Manager will play a key role in reviewing, analyzing, and segmenting our customer database, advising on SEO best practices, and optimizing IHI content to increase paying customers. We're looking for someone with demonstrated digital marketing and analytical skills. This position will be remote until IHI Management deems a return to our Boston office is safe.

Position Summary:

In concert with members of the IHI Marketing/Communications team, lead efforts to analyze marketing and customer data and make improvement suggestions, continuously improve SEO practices, assist with tactical marketing needs to achieve revenue targets, reach specific organizational and project goals, and boost general IHI awareness.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage operations with a focus on efficient lead scoring, campaign tracking, lead management, database health, targeting, segmentation strategies, and alignment with sales initiatives
  • Review existing data and information as well as historical trends in order to provide early insights into best practices and new trends that improve data quality across marketing metrics and operations
  • Work with external vendor and internal team to optimize and improve paid and organic search practices
  • Assist with the tactical execution of marketing and communications plans for IHI as an organization and specific programs or projects. Tactics may include:
    • Writing and updating timely, complete, and compelling web content that follows IHI style
    • Assisting in the production of collateral material (e.g., brochures)
    • Helping with the creation and deployment of email campaigns, including preparing and generating mailing lists
    • Reviewing data and analytics and sharing insights, including monthly and quarterly dashboards
    • Researching IHI competitors and staying up to date on developments in the health care marketplace
  • Proofreading and scheduling external communications (e.g., marketing emails, newsletters)
  • Writing and proofing IHI blogs or other content
  • Assisting with departmental budgeting and expense tracking and management
  • Leading departmental projects as assigned 

Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Understanding of marketing tactics and superb execution skills, including CRM, SEO, email marketing, accounts-based marketing
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Extremely strong writing skills and proofreading abilities, with an attention to detail
  • Highly energetic, motivated, and resourceful
  • Creative: Full of ideas and possibilities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to pitch in when necessary at all task levels
  • Ability to focus and produce in a remote environment
  • Commitment to IHI Values

Position Qualifications:

  • 4-6 years' experience in a marketing or communications operations role
  • Experience with HubSpot, Google Analytics, and content management systems/website authoring required
  • Proficiency with office systems and computers, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Strong understanding and experience with SEO/SEM/HTML
  • Must have a passion for IHI's mission and a mission-driven approach
