The Director of Marketing leads and coordinates marketing and business development efforts for the Firm. The Director reports to the Principals, coordinates with the Director of Communications, supervises the Marketing Coordinator, and works with ABA Associates, staff, and consultants.
Essential Job Functions:
Manages all marketing initiatives and staff. Works with firm leadership to develop and execute marketing strategies and plans. Marketing initiatives include:
Maintenance of ABA project data and graphics.
Maintenance of the ABA outreach/contact list and database.
Management of photo shoots and maintaining contracts with photographers.
Researching and evaluating marketing leads.
Researching building typologies, potential clients, market trends, and peers.
Leads regular marketing and business development meetings with Principals and Associates.
Leads responses to requests for proposals, developing proposal outlines, preparing proposal content, graphics, and layouts, editing and completing proposals. Directs Marketing Coordinator to assist in these efforts.
Assists Principals and Associates with interview preparation and support.
Responsible to coordinate with Director of Communications for award submissions, press releases, news items and calls for papers and presentations.
Develops and maintains the marketing and business development plan and budget in coordination with the Director of Communications.
Coordinates and tracks business development efforts with and in support of Principals, Associates, and staff.
Coordinates with Director of Communications and Marketing Coordinator to enhance ABA’s professional profile and identity, including website, brochures, publications, speaking engagements, and social media.
Develops and executes periodic marketing campaigns.
Undertakes special projects to advance marketing and business development initiatives.
Trains and prepares architectural staff for marketing and business development.
Analyzes and evaluates ABA’s marketing effectiveness, generates strategies for improvement.
Maintains personal professional appearance and environment.
Develops, maintains and expands marketing connections with consultants, new and existing clients, and contacts in the areas of ABA potential business.
Qualifications:
Strong background in architectural field.
Ability to manage multiple initiatives and deadlines
Knowledgeable about industry, markets, peer firms and services, and ABA’s resources and expertise.
Excellent research capabilities.
Skilled with Desktop Publishing (Adobe Creative Suite and other ABA approved software) to create marketing graphics and proposals.
Excellent writing and communication skills.
Prior experience as a Marketing Director in Architecture or similar field.
Undergraduate degree in liberal arts or equivalent job experience.
