The Director, Membership and Marketing, reporting directly to an ACPM Vice President, will be the primary source of knowledge, intelligence and decision making as it relates to membership and marketing related functions. The director will be responsible for data collection, analyses and systems integration as it pertains to membership as well as strategy to shore up retention and recruitment efforts. The director will also be responsible for governance by ensuring the proper volunteer alignment, training, onboarding and infrastructure to engage members and cultivate leaders in the College. Working closely with the relevant committees of the College and of the Board, the director will be responsible for leading organizational strategic priorities related to these areas, and developing, refining and executing the work plans for these areas. The director assures effective data analyses, planning and delivery of all ACPM’s individual and organizational membership recruitment, engagement and volunteer onboarding and delivers towards the strategic direction and performance of the College.
Position Functions and Responsibilities
Supervise the staff in membership and marketing department.
Explore potential membership markets, design data-driven, cutting-edge strategies for recruitment, and expand ACPM membership among physicians and other aligned associations and stakeholder organizations.
Improve membership retention and renewal by identifying and implementing strategies to engage individual and organizational members and cultivate volunteer leadership.
Develop opportunities for membership acquisition and retention through strategic and evidence-based best practices in marketing and membership recruitment and through collaboration with ACPM staff, member volunteers and collegial organizations.
Develop and utilize analytics and tools to measure member touch points with association events, products and services and design / deliver new member value initiatives working in collaboration on unique or innovative products and services.
Develop and design new membership models based on an analyses of our value proposition and price points in the marketplace.
Work with Governance Committee to prepare yearly slate of candidates for officers and Board elections; conduct and monitor election/results; and identify, select, and honor ACPM awardees.
Supervise Fellowship application and review process, including candidate requirements and facilitating Membership Committee review. Design and launch an enhanced and revised Fellowship program generating new interest and revenues.
Leverage ACPM’s Association Management System to segment members and design marketing strategies and programs based on data analyses.
Analyze the effectiveness of the current system to recommend any additional features, functions or complete system overhaul.
Evaluate and implement robust data mining and tracking tools to analyze member demographics and engagement trends and provide reports for performance impact and dashboard tracking.
Develop and execute member surveys to assure data-driven needs assessments, recruitment and retention strategies.
Direct and manage the association’s communications and marketing campaigns, from planning to implementation, including supporting the association’s committees to develop an impactful experience.
Understand and implement financial metrics as they relate to member acquisition, lifetime value, renewal, retention, the cost of membership benefits and individual and organizational revenues and expenses.
Oversee governance for ACPM by managing Governance Committee, monitoring by-laws, nominations, Board of Regents, and Committee members and charters as well as the Prevention Alliance.
Prepare annual budget projections for membership and marketing department’s activities. Ensure budgets adherence and management to achieve projected margins.
Contribute to the overall success of ACPM by performing all other essential duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Marketing and relationship development expertise.

Experience in working in non-profit/association.
