Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Associate Dean, the Director of Marketing and Operations is responsible for the administration, operations, project management and learner support of the Middlebury Institute's Language and Professional Programs. This is an exempt, full-time staff position.
Responsibilities Marketing In conjunction with the Associate Dean and program directors, determines the target audience for programs and creates marketing plans to reach those audiences. Collaborates closely with the Institute's Director of Marketing to implement marketing plans for open enrollment programs. Represents department's needs and concerns to Middlebury's Marketing and Creative Services team. Identifies, develops, and maintains relationships with partner organizations that would benefit from enrollment in the Institute's Language & Professional Programs. Operations Manages a team that oversees the non-academic aspects of the learner life cycle from inquiry through enrollment. This process includes inquiry management, application processing, and services to enrolled learners across the Language and Professional Programs. For professional programs, manages the program management life cycle of on-campus and online open enrollment programs, including liaising with academic leads. For language programs, coordinates learner support with program directors. Ensures timely, consistent, and high-quality communication to and support of on-campus and online learners. Hires, mentors, and supervises operations team, including staff and graduate assistants. Works closely with Information Technology Services to ensure that customer relationship management, student information, and reporting systems meet the needs of the department. Troubleshoots learner issues and resolves them within the guidelines of Institute and program policy. Works closely to communicate and collaborate with support departments, including Institute Recruiting, Admissions, Registrar, Student Financial Services, Student Services, Center for Academic and Career Advising, and others.

Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in the field of international education, higher education administration or related preferred.

Experience: Proven track record of managing individuals for high performance. A minimum of five years' work experience, preferably in marketing, recruiting, admissions, and/or student services in higher education context
Physical Demands: The Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey maintains a smoke-free workplace and complies with the Federal Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act and Drug-Free Workplace Act. Essential job functions require ability to sit for extended periods of time, walk, bend, climb, push/pull, lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally. Also requires fine dexterity and ability to grasp, i.e. for writing and word processing/data entry.
