RAPS is a robust international community of 24,000 regulatory affairs professionals who work in the fast-growing healthcare product sector (primarily pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and biologics). RAPS has enjoyed steady growth in membership with an expanding presence in Europe (Euro Convergence) and a successful new enterprise membership offering. Over the past 3 years, RAPS has made a significant investment in IT support and technology (a new AMS, CMS, and plans for a new LMS), and we now have the potential to dramatically increase membership, as well as our influence on the regulatory affairs profession. (With more than 130,000 unique readers each month, our Regulatory Focus news magazine reaches tens of thousands of nonmember readers who follow the latest regulatory developments.)
As our VP of Marketing, you will report to the Executive Director and lead a talented team of 15 people responsible for membership development, new market development, marketing, and member engagement. Your direct reports will include the Director of Business Development and Sales, Director of Marketing, and Director of Stakeholder Engagement. You will also serve on the executive management team, working collaboratively with the Chief Operating Officer, the VP of Content Strategy, and the VP of Education & Professional Development.
Regulatory Affairs professionals are vital to the success of the global healthcare product sector because new products cannot get to market without regulatory affairs providing the strategy and the bridge. At RAPS events, regulators and industry come together in a safe, neutral forum to help create safer products and better regulations. We create a community where regulatory affairs professionals can connect and learn from each other to advance the profession.
We use a customer-centric approach to marketing, organizing our teams so each marketing manager has a portfolio of products and a better understanding of customer needs. As we continue to improve our data quality, your role will be to help our team better understand buyer behavior, map the buyer journey, and better serve our members by providing the right information and opportunities tailored to their needs. At the individual level, you will explore the business case for value-based pricing and tiered membership models. At the enterprise level, you will help tailor our service offerings to meet organizational needs.
