George Mason University's Criminal Investigations and Network Analysis (CINA) Center is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic person to support its mission to provide thought leadership and novel solutions to support the Homeland Security Enterprise in its efforts to effectively predict, detect, identify, monitor, track, disrupt, thwart, and ultimately dismantle Transnational Criminal Organizations (TCOs) and other illicit actors.
Reporting directly to CINA's Financial and Administrative Specialist, this position will provide extensive events management support, as well as administrative and logistical support for its operations. The successful candidate will also work collaboratively with CINA's communications team to produce marketing communications materials.
Ability to multi-task and strong problem-solving skills are required;
Excellent events management skills;
The ability to articulate complex thoughts into infographics to be used both on social media and within printed pieces (Data Visualization) is required;
Knowledge of the production process for printed materials, marketing/promo materials (i.e. cups, t-shirts, signage, posters, other visual media) and advertisements is required;
Familiarity with the Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro) is required;
Demonstrated ability to work independently, follow direction, and take initiative;
Superior communication and organizational skills;
Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds;
Ability to troubleshoot basic technology issues; and
Familiarity with the process of video production and photography.
Bachelor's of Arts, or Fine Arts, in Graphic Design, New Media, or closely related field is preferred;
Demonstrated experience creating marketing and promotional materials for a higher education environment;
A working knowledge of WordPress, Drupal, and Rise Vision display systems is preferred;
Helpful to possess computer skills and proficiency with MS Office and video editing software (preferably Adobe premier and after effects);
Experience with purchasing and travel; and
Experience working in a higher education environment is preferred.
Salary: Commensurate with education and experience.
