About the Role:

We are seeking an intelligent, experienced digital creative specialist with a passion for storytelling and the power it has to impact marketing objectives.  The Marketing Storytelling Specialist will lead the content process from ideation to publication. The Marketing Storytelling Specialist will be responsible for implementing creative strategy, outlining content plans and concepts, maintaining editorial calendars, capturing photography and videography, editing the content to create the final cut, and publishing content on web and social media.

About the Ideal Candidate:

You need to be detail-oriented, adaptable, empathetic, and a creative storyteller and communicator. Your listening and written communication skills combined with patience and quick thinking will get you through resolving any challenge that comes your way. Your self-starter mindset and personal accountability will allow you to master the content planning process to enable the execution of high-quality digital content on an ongoing basis. You are a self-motivated, strategic thinker with a solution-oriented mindset and a working knowledge of the nonprofit landscape. You are comfortable setting and reporting on marketing goals for the content you create. You have an awareness and sensitivities in working with diverse cultures and communities. A background in video production, blogging, journalism, and/or graphics creation, and an obsession with storytelling and creating viral content, is paramount.

What the Role will do:

Content Planning + Strategy:

  • Manage and maintain web and social media content calendars and campaigns.
  • Identify content trends on digital initiatives drawing on your knowledge of copywriting, video and graphic design, and social media channel nuances and audience behavior.
  • Work closely with internal team to create and plan relevant, new digital content strategies and campaigns.
  • Compile and analyze content performance (both qualitative and quantitative insights) and recommend growth opportunities.

Content Creation:

  • Create, shoot, edit, and produce social and digital content, including videos.
  • Ideate and execute concepts for videos.
  • Make creative, fun, and social-driven content and share across our platforms.
  • Analyze the results of your work and how it contributes to organizational goals.
  • Meet metrics and productivity output regularly.

Community Management:

  • Nurture social media communities through daily monitoring, publishing and engagement.
  • Communicate digitally with precision to reflect the brand persona in a timely manner.
  • Understand and embrace the expectation that social media operates outside of traditional business hours.
  • Ability to use online listening, curating, planning, publishing and measurement platforms and tools effectively.
  • Attention to detail that surpasses most humans on desktop and mobile.

General:

  • Demonstrate the ability to perform well and remain organized under tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrate a desire to learn, willingness to do both menial tasks and take on more complex challenges.
  • Ability to work on your own as well as in small teams.
  • Adhere to organizations policies, processes and procedures.
  • Take on other duties as assigned.

 

Role Requirements & Skills:

  • Candidate should include URL to their on-line portfolio on resume.
  • Degree in Digital Journalism, Journalism, Marketing, Communications or related field from an accredited College/University.
  • 3-5 years of experience with video production and familiarity with DSLR cameras, lighting, and editing.
  • 3-5 years proven experience creating compelling content in a digital domain – experience with social media, community management, copywriting, email, digital storytelling, mobile and technology solutions.
  • High level of proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, including but not limited to Adobe Premier Pro, AfterEffects, Photoshop and Lightroom.
  • High level of proficiency in WordPress and Content Management System (CMS) tools.
  • Strong understanding of copywriting, editorial calendars, content ideation and mapping, brand persona, and customer service.
  • Expertise in identifying and forecasting emerging trends in the digital content space.
  • Ability to convert and implement strategic plans into tactical ones.
  • Superior oral and written communication skills; excellent typist, great listener and relationship oriented.

Additional Desired Skills:

  • Fluency in Spanish preferred.

  • work in environment with loud sounds, multiple distractions and interruptions; hot/cold temperatures may vary.
  • maintain emotional control during stressful situations associated with large crowds and outdoor activities.
  • ability to occasionally work non-business hours.
