Reporting to the Director of Enrollment Management, the Assistant Director of Admissions, Communications & Marketing will serve as one of the key administrators of Slate, the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system used in the recruitment and admission of prospective students to F&ES. The position is responsible for the development and management of admissions communications and marketing plans for prospective, applicant, and admit student populations; crafting important messages for all student populations throughout the application process including the content creation for all monthly “newsletters" and blogs. The role will manage the creation, addition and dissemination of all event-based communications and announcements via Slate.
This position is also required to conduct off campus recruiting sessions and significant international and domestic travel to help meet growth and visibility goals. Assists with the campus visit program, and assists in the execution of the on-campus open houses and events as needed. With direction from the Director, leads all social media outreach efforts and the management of all Admission Ambassador social media submissions, uploads and posts. Will be responsible for the development and/or updating of all marketing materials for distribution at recruiting events, including giveaways, informational postcards, etc. ensuring consistency with branding and a focus on innovation. Will co-lead in the hiring, training and oversight of Admissions Ambassadors and Financial Aid Work Study student assistants.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field plus a minimum of three years of related experience in admissions, registration, placement, financial aid, student counseling or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Superior demonstrated written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, including experience in public presentation, and the ability to craft and articulate messages for a variety of audiences.
Proficiency in basic data management system (preferably Slate).
Strong and demonstrated knowledge of developing and implementing successful admissions and event strategies.
Excellent analytical skills and creative self-direction. Exceptional administrative, planning, organizational and project management skills. Ability to represent the school well and work collegially with peers and colleagues within and outside the University. Ability to work successfully in a fast-paced and changing environment.
Strong computer skills, and experience using data management systems. Ability to be available during events and occasional evening and weekend work. Vacation time may be taken by special permission only during the period of December 15th and April 1st.
Preferred Education and Experience: Master’s degree in higher education administration, counseling or the environment; proven familiarity with environmental issues; experience conducting data analysis, planning and implementing events and development of marketing materials.
