Renbrook School, an independent day school for children age three to grade eight located in West Hartford, Connecticut, currently seeks a full-time, Director of Marketing and Communications to elevate the visibility of the school for enrollment and advancement purposes. This experienced, creative, and energetic visionary will succeed by telling the Renbrook story in inventive ways by providing clear and effective communication to internal and external constituencies.
Responsibilities include working with the Leadership Team in creating and maintaining a strong and sustainable marketing strategy for the school, overseeing all publications, graphic design, advertising, website content, social media, press relations, event promotion, and internal and external communications.
Work with the Head of School to develop the strategic vision, goals, and assessment practices for Renbrook’s marketing and communications efforts with verbal, print, event, and digital media including social media and other emerging technologies.
Coordinate marketing and communication initiatives in support of the goals of the Admission and Development Offices and Auxiliary Programs (Summer Adventure and After School programs),
Responsible for overall management of the school’s website: design, content development, functionality, and ongoing development and maintenance of all aspects of the school’s overall web presence,
Create content for and manage all social media messaging,
Create and design printed and electronic publications, press releases, and other materials,
Oversee, proof, and edit all school documents and communication, including communications for the Head of School,
Assist with crisis management,
Advise and manage school style guidelines across all media, for all constituencies,
Coordinate photography for school events and maintain photo and video sharing database.
Manage external vendors and negotiate contracts.

Bachelor’s degree with at least three years marketing and communications experience, preferably with some experience in the field of education,
Strong interpersonal, management, and communication skills,
Strong graphic design skills and proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, with Photoshop and InDesign skills,
Proficiency in using Blackbaud's Education Management Solutions,
Ability to collaborate widely with various constituencies throughout the School’s community,
Demonstrable experience (at least three years) in the field of digital marketing and SEO/SEM strategy.
