Under the supervision of the Marketing Director, the Communication Manager will strengthen Fairmont’s brand identity by developing compelling content for the schools’ and OCEF’s websites, social media channels, and print materials, and by executing multiple strategies to “tell the schools’ story” to internal and external audiences.
The Manager is responsible for the identification, creation, and implementation of improved communication processes, strategies across all channels, internal and external. You will be asked to create a content calendar including writing, designing, posting, engaging, and tracking communications plans, including social media posts on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and LinkedIn.
This position will assist with the planning of campus events and will gather material and photos for all communication outlets including “live-tweeting” or live streaming. The Manager will ensure that all communications are clear and consistent, and will develop strong working relationships with Campus and Administrative leadership. Positivity, the ability to take initiative, and enthusiasm are a must. The position is fast-paced and the ability to multitask and prioritize is critical to success.
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or related field required
Work experience with high end customers/industries preferred
Excellent English grammar and writing skills required
Knowledge and experience in the current social media landscape (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Pinterest, etc.)
Must possess strong account management skills
Strong content writing skills
Must have the ability to use (or quickly learn to use): Office, Google Docs, Constant Contact, (or other email marketing platform), InDesign, Hubspot, WordPress, among others
Photography/videography skills required (will often use a personal cell phone to take photos or video)
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize projects based on deadline
Enthusiasm for social media, communications, and marketing with a strong desire to learn, as well as a willingness to coach and develop skills in others when identified needs arise
Can clearly and effectively communicate ideas visually, verbally, and in writing
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, as well as under pressure, often with short turnaround times
