The Role
Due to the growth of international student numbers, St George’s University want to appoint an Executive Director, International Marketing and Communications.
This role will report to the Chief Marketing and Enrollment Operations Officer and is responsible for development and deployment of consumer engagement and communication strategies, tools, and execution primarily across, Asia, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. This position will ensure alignment and synergy between the Home Office based senior management team and our recruiting and operations colleagues based outside of North America and the Caribbean.
The overarching goal is to turn business strategy and priorities into compelling student (and parent) engagement, leading to quality volume growth and ROI on the investments made in people, tools, and media platforms.
This is a hands-on marketing strategist who must be able to balance strategic planning with day-to-day execution as well as build and maintain strong relationships with senior leaders around the world while able to lead, teach and inspire with our department colleagues. The outcomes of this position and their reports will drive quality volume, create efficiencies through synergistic creative development, continuously find monetary efficiencies through intelligent purchasing of effective media, create content that can be deployed across campuses, and ensure all people across the enterprise are maintaining creative integrity.
Our International expansion is a relatively recent endeavor and requires the person in this position to be innovative, able to effectively work through challenges, bring a positive attitude and approach to everything they do, and lead by demonstrating passion and perseverance. There is tremendous upside opportunity waiting to be unlocked and realized. And like any newly created position, this person will be able to help craft and mold the role as it matures.
Skills
The person in this position must have proven and wide-ranging knowledge and experience in modern day, contemporary techniques for engaging students and their families as well as converting prospective students to matriculants. Demonstrated experience with digital marketing will be required as will be outstanding public speaking and writing skills and strong abilities in editing of content and copy for various languages, cultures, and countries.

Experience Required
Bachelor’s Degree required, ideally in Marketing, Media, or related level of experience. Master’s Degree is preferred.
Experience working in global markets with a primary emphasis on Asia and secondary emphasis on Africa, Middle East and the United Kingdom.
Experience in International Student Recruitment Marketing is a plus.
Proven knowledge of media platforms and the tools used to engage consumers
Experience managing effective creative development both in-house and via agencies
Demonstrated successes using earned media and public relations
Proven abilities to apply data and insights to attract and influence consumers, craft messaging, design creative, manage websites, utilize social media, purchase media, and other components from initial outreach through matriculation
Track record of growing and mentoring staff, attracting and retaining talented individuals
Spokesperson for company on various topics
Experience managing global budgets
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across all areas and levels of the enterprise
Capable of organizing and managing complicated projects with numerous stakeholders
Higher education experience is a plus including understanding of education industry rules and regulations pertaining to advertising, marketing, and communications.
Location
The role must be based in Asia, ideally in the St George’s Hong Kong office.
