Fontbonne University has an immediate full-time opening for an Associate Vice President of Marketing and Communications.
The Associate Vice President serves as a member of the President's Cabinet and brings the marketing and communications point of view to all University discussions. The Associate Vice President is responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating a strategic and integrated marketing, communication and public awareness plan to meet the University's goals by reaching all internal and external target audiences, including prospective and current students, parents, alumni, media, faculty, staff, supporters and the general public. This position manages external agencies and directs an internal team of professionals to accomplish University goals.
Develop and implement a University-wide marketing/communications action plan including priorities, budget, tactics, timelines and measurements that support all departments, programs, and constituencies of the University.
Lead and manage all internal and external communication efforts; serve as primary liaison with external PR agency in development of key messages and position statements, media inquiries and outreach. Serve as PR point for all campus projects and constituents. Create story angles and pitches to attract local and national media.
Champion all brand building initiatives. Implement and oversee Brand and Campaign strategies, messaging and tactics including digital presence through institutional and program web sites' content, electronic communication, social media sites and traditional media to build University imagery and awareness as well as support enrollment management.
Participate in senior level cross-depa rtmental discussions bringing the marketing and communications point of view to all University discussions. Collaborate on strategic projects.
Effective marketing strategies, tactics and practices that enhance the Brand and drive revenue
Effective and appropriate message development for target market segmentation
Advertising strategies and general media buying demographic principles and practices
Crisis communication practices and strategies
Experience guiding and inspiring Agency partners
Experience in both Mac and PC environments
Graphic design and/or management of graphic design
Effective media relations practices and strategies
Proper marketing and journalism practices, techniques and approaches to writing, editing and proofreading
Required Skills or Abilities:
Strategic and creative mindset
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to collaborate and build consensus with varied constituencies
Prioritize, establish and adhere to deadlines
Proven ability to multi-task and oversee parallel projects
Prepare and present marketing and communication materials and concepts in committee setting
Formal Education: A Bachelor's degree is required, Master's degree preferred. Prefer 10+ years in marketing or communications field.
