The Marketing Specialist will help the Homewood Career Center prepare for the AY 19-20 marketing needs by developing marketing materials to support staff members and events, managing social media presence, updating the website and more. This person will also gather materials for and assemble newsletters, graphics, and potentially assist with the management of developing videos and trainings.

Assist co-directors and office staff in their outreach efforts as part of the overall communications strategy. Help manage consistent message and provide feedback on documents, trainings, presentations and publications.
Manage content and art on Homewood Career Center website and oversee development and creation of social media content, especially summer Instagram takeovers by students.
Work with contractors, including designers and printing and materials providers, to execute projects for Fall 2019 and career fairs.
Assist in creation or management of Career Center publications using desktop publishing and design software. Publications could include web-based newsletters for students, employers and families; brochures; fair and event materials; internal and coaching documents; among others.
Assist with general event management and office operations.
Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Career Center co-directors.
Two years college coursework required. Associate's degree in journalism, communications, marketing or a related field preferred.
Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Some related experience required. Two years' experience in communications preferred.
Experience in a communications office preferred.
Special Knowledge, Skills or Abilities
Excellent communication and organizational skills; must possess strong writing and editing ability; experience with Adobe Creative Suite software or online design software; knowledge of various social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.).
Casual position – no benefits.
Limited to 987 hours in a rolling, 12-month period.
This position will work 20 - 30 hours per week from mid-June 2019 to mid-October 2019.
