The Mason Enterprise Center (MEC) at George Mason University, is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic person for a part time Marketing Support Specialist position in our MEC-Leesburg office. Manage and post to social media accounts, including existing Facebook (1 account) and Twitter (2 accounts) and establish and manage LinkedIn and Instagram accounts for the Mason Enterprise Center Loudoun organization.
Modify, update and add information to primary website as requested, weekly/monthly. This includes adding events to the calendar, changing highlighted events, refreshing photos and stock graphics, editing core program information (provided by staff), adding or modifying advisor and/or volunteer information, and adding pages as needed.
Modify, update and add information to Annual Conference website as requested, primary work from November through May.
Work with staff to create flyers and other marketing materials for MEC/SBDC Leesburg programs & events that can be self-printed in office or electronically sent out (1–2 per month).
Under the guidance of MEC/SBDC staff, prepare client success stories and event/activity write-ups needed for E-newsletters, social media, press releases, and prepare submissions for staff to review; then submit appropriately. Minimum one client success story per month.
In collaboration with staff compile and layout Loudoun SBDC newsletter on a weekly or bi-monthly basis via MailChimp or Constant Contact.
Review and report on analytics for websites and social media and report to staff quarterly or as requested.
Ability to utilize social media to bolster program recognition and website traffic.
Experience with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn applications.
Understanding of web design concepts and site analytics.
Ability to update and modify WordPress websites.
Working ability with Microsoft Office programs in particular WORD, Publisher and PowerPoint.
Demonstrated ability to generate promotional flyers and other related print materials
Ability to conduct client interviews and generate impactful success stories or testimonials.
Ability to contribute to and maintain a consistent and strong design aesthetic and brand for print and online.
Excellent project management and organizational skills.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate verbally and in writing with internal and external clients and stakeholders.
Ability to problem solve and research answers to questions.
Able to take direction and complete tasks in a timely manner.
Ability to process suggestions, corrections, and feedback professionally.
Flexibility to adapt to change and willing to learn and develop new skill sets as applicable.
In-depth knowledge of all aspects of Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram for program and organization promotion.
Experience using MailChimp and/or Constant Contact.
Hands on experience creating, optimizing, and migrating web content, page graphics and layouts.
Experience with Search Engine Optimization and Google Analytics tagging and reporting.
Demonstrated ability to collect and analyze web, digital and social metrics.
Experience with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
Ability to tie-in HubSpot to marketing efforts.
Experience generating effective press releases.
Contacts/Connections with local media.
Salary: $20-$50 per hour; Commensurate with education and experience.
