Goshen College invites applications for a full-time Assistant or Associate Professor of Marketing who is passionate about creating effective learning experiences for college students at all levels and providing leadership that will increase enrollment in the marketing programs. Candidates with one or more of the following specialties is preferred: marketing research, business analytics, or digital marketing.
This position begins in August 2019. Access to office space and course preparation materials will be provided at the earliest possible date after hiring. Fall semester classes begin on August 27, 2019.
Teaching faculty contracts at Goshen College are 42-weeks (mid-August through early-June), which allows for considerable time to pursue professional and personal projects during the summer. The rhythm of the school calendar also provides short breaks in the fall and spring and a longer break over the Christmas holiday.

Primary teaching responsibilities will be in the area of marketing, with additional courses in general business. Course responsibilities are likely to include Principles of Marketing, Sales, Digital Marketing, Marketing Research, Advertising, Principles of Management, Career Planning, and Learning to Lead, with some courses offered in alternate years. Additionally, candidate ability and interest in managing the internship program for business and marketing students is desired, which includes individual coaching with students and relationship building with the local and regional business community. Teaching assignments in the Collaborative MBA program are also possible. Additional business department courses that occasionally shift from one person to another are Spreadsheet Skills, Business Fundamentals, and Business Analytics.
The business department offers four majors/minors: Accounting, Business, Marketing, and Sustainability Management. Two additional minors are offered in Entrepreneurship and Global Economics. All members of the department have opportunities to develop courses and experiential learning opportunities within their expertise.
Goshen College is a teaching college with a 4-3-1 load, and all teaching faculty are expected to serve on institution-wide committees, provide academic advising to business department students, and assist in creating and implementing business department student recruiting initiatives. The successful candidate must be ready to contribute to our strong tradition of excellence in teaching, experiential learning, and student internships. Candidates must be interested in working closely with students and fellow faculty members as part of a small, vibrant campus and community.
Teaching a variety of marketing and business courses that utilizes active learning and expects high levels of student engagement.
Creating and supervising project-based learning experiences for students.
Facilitating internship placement for business and marketing students through individual coaching with students.
Academic advising responsibilities for marketing majors and minors.
Assisting in recruitment activities of prospective students.
Participating in business department meetings, programs, events, and activities.
Creating and strengthening relationships with marketing and business professionals in the local and regional business communities.
Accepting invitations to engage with the broader campus, the church, the community, and the academic discipline through committee assignments, speaking engagements, and board service.
Education and Experience:
MBA degree from an accredited college or university
Significant and current industry experience in marketing
