The Director of Admissions and Financial Aid Marketing will manage the creation, integration and execution of multiplatform communications for admissions and financial aid. Situated in the Office of Communications and Public Affairs (Communications), this position will report to the Associate Director of Communications with input from the Vice President for Admissions and Financial Aid (Admissions & Aid), and work in close partnership with the admissions and financial aid team. The anticipated start date for this position is July 1, 2019.
STATUS: Full-Time, 12 Month, With Benefits WORK HOURS: 8:30-4:30 Monday-Friday FLSA: Exempt MINIMUM PAY: $68,704 (salary commensurate with experience)
Essential and Related Functions:
Partners with leaders in Admissions & Aid and Communications to identify needs, develop and implement annual communications plan, align messaging across units and make strategic use of various digital and print vehicles.
Serves as liaison between the Communications and Admissions & Aid offices, ensuring quality and consistency of service from Communications and achievement of goals and objectives for recruitment and yield efforts.
Affirms the creative and authentic W&L story is collected and messaged to key audiences: prospective and current students and parents and college counselors.
Ensures that key university messages are deployed appropriately in recruitment and yield efforts.
Serves as project manager for all Admissions & Aid communications, optimizing workflow and scheduling from design consultation to content creation and deployment.
Writes and assembles content for all Admissions & Aid communications, including print pieces, email campaigns, social media, video and multimedia presentations.
Maintains calendar to assist with scheduling and pacing Admissions & Aid communications to prospective students, parents and guidance counselors.
Manages and updates Admissions & Aid webpages and social media accounts.
Serves as primary liaison to admissions search vendor (Fire Engine Red) and digital marketing agency (Carnegie Dartlet), determining search buys, overseeing prospective student outreach and managing digital advertising.
Monitors and updates third party online college search engines, e.g. Cappex, QuestBridge, Strive for College, Niche, College Confidential, College Board.
Serves as a member of Communications’ content strategy team, participating in the development of story ideas and the integration of key messages and institutional storytelling in print and digital media.
Additional related duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree preferred. 5-7 years of increasing responsibility in admissions or higher education field, or a combination of experience and education from which a similar background could be attained.
Demonstrated experience in admissions marketing and communications, with an ability to leverage both quantitative and qualitative data to inform decisions. Experience writing and designing sophisticated, persuasive communications for print, web, email and social media, with content tailored for each platform. Experience creating digital advertising campaigns, including ad retargeting and data analysis. Experience working with Slate CRM strongly preferred.
Strong understanding of higher education landscape, policy and procedures. Ability to interact effectively with the broad spectrum of stakeholders, including students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents and college counselors. Excellent written communication skills and experience editing/providing feedback on the work of others. Strong project management skills, including initiative, problem-solving, attention to detail and ability to manage relationships in a complex environment both internally and externally.

Types of Work:

Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
