Serving as our primary marketing officer, your role as Associate Director of Marketing will provide the University with creative leadership in telling our story accurately, with authenticity and in an engaging way. Your leadership qualities will provide direction for staff and faculty as well as building relationships with external constituents. Reporting to the Executive Director of University Communications, you are responsible for the day-to-day functions of the Marketing team as well as your individual projects. As a strategic partner within the Communications Office, you will have the room to apply your creative approach to current and future campaigns. As an adept collaborator and self-starter, you will lead efforts to integrate marketing efforts and build pipelines of support to institutional partners.
Job Summary: As the Associate Director of Marketing, you hold responsibility for:
The university’s visual branding, design and marketing messages,
Designing and implementing advertising campaigns,
Maintaining relationships with our key partners including vendors, designers, printers, writers, ad agencies and others,
Recognizing and incorporating fresh approaches to our presentation of content across a variety of mediums,
Prepare and launch campaign plans for new programs,
Provide guidance and resources to the University community to help bring their projects to life,
Providing leadership support with the Executive Director of University Communications to the Communications and Marketing team.
Experience and Qualifications: The skills and abilities that you bring will include:
Superior writing and editing skills,
An ability to work effectively and communicate within a diverse community,
Five + years of marketing, graphic design, and/or project management experience,
Excellent written, visual, creative and interpersonal skills,
A mastery of Microsoft products and other industry specific design and publishing software including Adobe Create Suite,
Strong analytical, problem solving and research skills,
Experience in leading and mentoring staff and students,
A degree in marketing, communications or a related field,
Previous higher education experience is preferred.
